喬志高,又名高克毅,是一位享譽(yù)兩岸三地的著名作家和翻譯家,自小受中西方雙語(yǔ)文化背景熏陶的他,對(duì)于中美兩國(guó)的語(yǔ)言及文化都把握的十分純熟。自1971年出版第一部長(zhǎng)篇譯作《大亨小傳》后,還譯有《長(zhǎng)夜漫漫路迢迢》（1973）和《天使,望故鄉(xiāng)》（1985）兩部美國(guó)文學(xué)作品。一直以來(lái),文學(xué)及翻譯界對(duì)高先生譯作的評(píng)價(jià)甚高,但國(guó)內(nèi)的學(xué)者對(duì)其翻譯成果的討論卻略顯不足。本論文擬選取喬志高先生的這三部主要翻譯作品進(jìn)行研究,通過(guò)語(yǔ)言和文化特征方面的具體分析,集中探討高氏的翻譯風(fēng)格,在前人總結(jié)出的其典型的舊式文白夾雜的語(yǔ)言風(fēng)格基礎(chǔ)之上,歸納出他的翻譯風(fēng)格如下:1.在用詞上,善用四字成語(yǔ)讓行文更見(jiàn)中國(guó)特色;2.語(yǔ)法上,高氏不拘泥于原文之語(yǔ)法,而能以合乎中文之語(yǔ)法或語(yǔ)用習(xí)慣之方式來(lái)表達(dá)原文內(nèi)容;3.在內(nèi)容方面,原文中之種種意象,高氏均視乎在漢語(yǔ)是否可行而決定直譯與否,一些原語(yǔ)文化特有之名物,或直譯并在文中加以解釋,或索性以譯語(yǔ)文化中相當(dāng)名物代替。盡管譯學(xué)界對(duì)高氏的翻譯作品評(píng)價(jià)甚高,但高氏的翻譯仍然存在一些不足,這是之前的研究成果都未曾提及到的。如雙關(guān)語(yǔ)和文學(xué)典故的翻譯,高氏在某些情況下選擇了直譯,這樣就失去了原文豐...
