隱喻傳統(tǒng)上被看做是一種修辭格,是語言的一種修飾物。但隱喻的研究僅局限于修辭方面是遠遠不夠的。由Lakoff和Johnson（1980）提出的“概念隱喻論”從認(rèn)知的角度研究隱喻。該理論認(rèn)為隱喻是人類思維的重要手段,其本質(zhì)是一種認(rèn)知現(xiàn)象,起著重要的認(rèn)知功能。人類賴以生存的許多基本概念系統(tǒng)以及人類思維行為方式實質(zhì)上都是隱喻的。本文從認(rèn)知視角對英漢中的隱喻進行比較研究,著重探討隱喻的本質(zhì)特征、工作機制及其認(rèn)知功能,首先證明抽象思維在英語和其它語言中同樣是通過隱喻的機制來實現(xiàn)的,由此來證明隱喻的普遍性和概念隱喻的存在。其次,由于語言不能獨立于文化和社會環(huán)境之外,因此我們就可以假設(shè)不同民族的隱喻概念系統(tǒng)中應(yīng)該存在差異。本文在吸取中外隱喻研究成果的基礎(chǔ)之上,以認(rèn)知語言學(xué)、體驗哲學(xué)和投射理論為基礎(chǔ),對英、漢兩種語言中的大量人體隱喻表達法做了比較研究,著重比較這兩種語言中與人體密切相關(guān)的認(rèn)知隱喻,旨在發(fā)現(xiàn)其隱喻認(rèn)知有何異同以及異同的原因。作者最后嘗試將認(rèn)知隱喻學(xué)理論應(yīng)用到外語詞匯教學(xué)中,使學(xué)生在掌握單詞的核心意思的基礎(chǔ)上，認(rèn)識到和其它延伸意義之間的聯(lián)系,幫助學(xué)生意識到在交際中隱喻的文化因素,以提高學(xué)生的...
