從語篇體裁的社會目的看戲劇翻譯策略的選擇 ——以《陰道獨白》的兩個中譯本為例

就戲劇翻譯而言,以往相當長的時間內(nèi),人們一直把注意力放在戲劇的雙重屬性上,即“可讀性”和“可演性”,同時也把戲劇屬性作為翻譯質(zhì)量的評估標準,但戲劇翻譯理論家似乎并沒有追溯到戲劇的語篇體裁問題。根據(jù)Martin(2004/2006:505),語篇體裁是有目的的、分階段的社會過程。因此,戲劇,作為一種語篇體裁,也是通過社會目的來定義的。評估翻譯也應(yīng)該從語篇體裁的社會目的出發(fā)。本研究通過分析《陰道獨白》兩個中譯本,探討了譯者如何選擇翻譯策略,最終使原語文本和目的語文本達到語篇體裁社會目的的對等。戲劇的社會目的在于娛樂觀眾。因此,觀眾在社會目的實現(xiàn)上起著非常重要的作用,翻譯策略的選擇首先必須要考慮到觀眾的接受。這就在宏觀上要求譯者采取增刪策略,對原語文本的語料做出選擇;但不同的譯者選取不同的語料,本文將會分析兩位譯者為了達到戲劇社會目的的對等是怎樣對原語文本材料做出選擇的。語篇體裁通過語域?qū)崿F(xiàn)。語域是位于語篇體裁之下的一個層面,由三個變量組成:語義場(Field),語旨(Tenor)和語式(Mode)三個變量構(gòu)成,每個變量與一種語言元功能相聯(lián)系。語義場與概念功能緊密相連,通過詞匯—語法層的及物...
