【摘要】： 電影字幕翻譯這一翻譯模式在翻譯實踐以及跨文化交流的過程中發(fā)揮著越來越不容忽視的作用。 本文對字幕翻譯從理論到實踐作了一個初步的探討，首先剖析了電影字幕翻譯的特點和制約因素，從而提出功能對等的翻譯理論，旨在強調(diào)觀眾的反應。其次根據(jù)電影字幕翻譯的特點和制約因素討論了刪減法在電影字幕翻譯中的獨特運用。第四章討論了文化因素在電影字幕翻譯中的方法運用。既然通過電影，文化可以更有效方便地傳遞，那么在電影字幕翻譯的過程中，當牽涉到文化詞語時更提倡直入模式，也就是直譯。由此觀眾可以更加直觀地了解異域的文化。文章第五章有針對性地提出電影字幕翻譯工作者翻譯過程中的三個步驟：從準備階段到實際翻譯，最后以測試結(jié)尾。雖然這和其他翻譯看似沒有什么區(qū)別，，但是具體到各個步驟的方法和內(nèi)容卻又不朋同了。 此文僅對電影字幕這一新興且特殊的翻譯模式進行了一次粗略的探討，望能拋磚引玉，引起翻譯工作者對電影字幕翻譯的興趣和重視，從而更好地發(fā)揮它跨文化交際的功能。
