譯者是翻譯活動中的重要甚至關鍵因素。譯者的翻譯動機、翻譯策略、翻譯行為和翻譯能力對譯本的面貌產(chǎn)生重大影響。譯者作為一個具有獨立思維、文化立場和價值觀的個體,其主體性在選擇源語文本、制定翻譯策略、解決翻譯困難以及追求翻譯目的等方面得到體現(xiàn)。譯者作為個體,在很大程度上對翻譯過程和翻譯產(chǎn)品的影響是決定性的,而譯者作為一個群體,在譯介源語文化和豐富譯語文化,從而推進人類文化的整體歷史進程上發(fā)揮著重大作用。然而迄今為止翻譯理論中有關譯者的研究尚未形成一個較為深厚的體系。兩千多年來,中外出現(xiàn)了諸多關于譯者的比喻說法,如“舌人”、“媒婆”、“譯匠”、“仆人”、“叛逆者”、“戴著鐐銬的舞者”和“翻譯機器”等,構成了豐富的譯者形象譜系。傳統(tǒng)的翻譯觀將翻譯看做語言層面的轉(zhuǎn)換,使得譯者（翻譯家）研究只能局限在語言層面上對譯作的得失進行評價,而不能從文學、文化的角度審視他（她）們的貢獻�？上驳氖�,20世紀70年代的“文化轉(zhuǎn)向”使理論家們把更多的注意力投向譯者,從而把譯者主體性納入到了翻譯研究的課題之中。中外翻譯界的學者已經(jīng)逐漸開始從各種不同的理論視角對譯者及其主體性問題進行研究,其中哲學解釋學就是一個重要的理...
