基于功能語法的對中美英文報紙關(guān)于黃巖島事件報道的批評性話語分析

【摘要】:21世紀被稱為信息時代或電腦時代,新聞在當今社會的各個領(lǐng)域如政治、經(jīng)濟、科技等都起著非常重要的作用。新聞具有真實性、時效性、階級性等特點。如黃巖島事件剛剛發(fā)生的時候,全世界人們都很快地通過新聞媒體了解到這件事情。由于新聞的真實性,人們普遍認為新聞是真實可信的,不摻雜任何個人觀點。但是由于文化差異、政治利益、黨派紛爭等因素,絕對客觀的新聞是不存在的。 當今社會,一個國家所發(fā)行的新聞絕不僅僅局限于本國語言,取而代之,用外語所寫的新聞,尤其是英語新聞,正在全世界發(fā)行。在中國,《中國日報》在各大外語報紙中占著舉足輕重的作用,具有一定的代表性。同時,就英語報紙而言,美國媒體對其它國家形象的塑造有著巨大影響,報紙類以《華盛頓郵報》和《紐約時報》為首。因此,作者旨在通過對于中美英文報紙對黃巖島時間的報道來窺探新聞背后的意識形態(tài)。 本文分五部分。第一部分主要介紹研究背景,新聞的特點以及本文研究的目的和意義。第二部分主要回顧新聞?wù)Z篇,以及批評話語分析的國內(nèi)外研究現(xiàn)狀。第三部分主要介紹本文的研究方法和理論框架。本文采用韓禮德的系統(tǒng)功能語法作為主要的研究方法,費爾勞克的批評性話語分析作為主要的理論框架,并探討二者之間的關(guān)系。第四部分為定性與定量分析的具體研究與實踐。第五部分為結(jié)論,本文的研究局限性以及對未來研究的建議。 本文通過對比中美英文報紙對黃巖島事件的報道在及物性和情態(tài)方面的相同點和不同點來揭露新聞背后的意識形態(tài)及政治斗爭,并提出了培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的批評語言意識和批評閱讀能力的建議。傳統(tǒng)的新聞英語教學(xué)著重對新聞詞匯、語法、句法等層面的語言特色的講解,忽視對新聞背后的社會以及意識形態(tài)等因素的考察。本文指出將新聞?wù)Z篇的語言特征與話語實踐和社會實踐相結(jié)合,,揭示新聞?wù)Z言背后隱藏的意識傾向。新聞教學(xué)應(yīng)注重培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的批評語言意識,避免學(xué)生被看似客觀中立的新聞?wù)Z言所操縱和誤導(dǎo)。
[Abstract]:The 21st century is called the information age or the computer age. News plays a very important role in all fields such as politics, economy, science and technology. News has the characteristics of authenticity, timeliness and class. When Huangyan Island first happened, people all over the world quickly learned about it through the news media. Because of the authenticity of news, people generally think that news is true and credible, without any personal views. However, due to cultural differences, political interests, partisanship and other factors, absolutely objective news does not exist. In today's society, news issued by a country is not limited to its own language. Instead, news written in a foreign language, especially news in English, is being distributed all over the world. In China, China Daily plays an important role in foreign language newspapers. At the same time, as far as English newspapers are concerned, the American media have a great influence on the image of other countries, with the Washington Post and the New York Times taking the lead. Therefore, the author aims to explore the ideology behind the news by reporting on Huangyan Island time in Chinese, American and English newspapers. This paper is divided into five parts. The first part mainly introduces the research background, news characteristics and the purpose and significance of this study. The second part mainly reviews the news discourse, as well as the domestic and foreign research status of critical discourse analysis. The third part mainly introduces the research methods and theoretical framework of this paper. This paper uses Halliday's systemic functional grammar as the main research method and Faircock's critical discourse analysis as the main theoretical framework and discusses the relationship between the two. The fourth part is the concrete research and practice of qualitative and quantitative analysis. The fifth part is the conclusion, the research limitation and the suggestion to the future research. This paper reveals the ideological and political struggle behind the news by comparing the similarities and differences in the material and modal aspects of the reports of the Huangyan Island incident in Chinese and English newspapers. Some suggestions on how to cultivate students' critical language consciousness and critical reading ability are put forward. Traditional journalistic English teaching focuses on the explanation of language characteristics at the level of news vocabulary, grammar, syntax and so on, neglecting the social and ideological factors behind the news. This paper points out that the linguistic features of news discourse are combined with discourse practice and social practice to reveal the hidden tendency of consciousness behind news language. Journalism teaching should focus on cultivating students' awareness of critical language so as to avoid students being manipulated and misled by seemingly objective and neutral news language.
