[Abstract]:Language is a tool for human beings to communicate and spread culture. The spread of culture can not be separated from language, through the language of a nation can reflect the diversity of the national culture. Therefore, language occupies an important position in the field of cultural communication. Idiom is a special way of language expression, which occupies an important position in the process of cultural inheritance of a nation, not only plays an important role in daily communication, but also a crystallization of national wisdom. Korean and Chinese idioms are both born in life, closely linked with actual life, contain the wisdom of the nation and have certain educational significance. Therefore, in order to understand an idiom, we must not only look at the surface of an idiom, but also understand the symbolic meaning of an idiom first. We must first understand the cultural connotations contained in an idiom, and only through cultural connotations can we find out the true meaning of an idiom. This is the expression of idiom's particularity. It is because of the particularity of idioms that the author chooses idioms as the object of study. There are a lot of idioms about dragon and snake in the traditional culture of Korea and China, the dragon and snake have rich symbolic meaning in both countries, and the culture of dragon and snake has profound cultural background. The reason why this paper chooses dragon and snake as research object is that dragon and snake have profound historical origin. In many classical literature, dragon and snake are closely related. In ancient times, dragon is also called big snake and snake is called small dragon. In ancient China, dragons and snakes were worshipped as totem, symbolizing power and status. Influenced by the Chinese dragon culture, Han Guolong and the snake also have a certain position, which combines with the unique culture of Korea and forms a different symbolic meaning from that of China. The ultimate purpose of this paper is to study the causes of different symbolic meanings. At the same time, by analyzing the different status of dragon and snake in South Korea and China, it is helpful to better understand Korean and Chinese culture. The first chapter mainly expounds the purpose, significance and reason of this paper. The second and third chapters first list the idioms related to dragons and snakes in South Korea and China by means of illustrative methods, and then make a comparative study on the symbolic meaning of the idioms of dragons and snakes between Korea and China by means of comparative analysis. This paper finds out the similarities and differences between Korean and Chinese idioms about dragon and snake, and explains the reasons for the differences. The fourth chapter is the conclusion of the article, through the comparative study of the Dragon and Snake idioms between South Korea and China, we draw the conclusion that there are not only the same symbolic meanings but also different idioms' symbolic meanings. The reason for this phenomenon is the cultural difference between Korea and China, which makes us see clearly the cultural differences between South Korea and China, which is beneficial to the understanding of Korean and Chinese cultures. Although this thesis has collected a large number of idioms to compare Han Zhonglong with the snake, but there are still shortcomings, the author will collect more than 100 idioms as the appendix part of the article, so as to facilitate the future study of this aspect of the scholars reference.
