評價(jià)理論下中西方媒體眼中的中國形象對比分析

【摘要】:近年來,隨著經(jīng)濟(jì)快速發(fā)展,中國在世界上的影響力顯著提升,在政治、經(jīng)濟(jì)、文化等各個(gè)方面,都有著舉足輕重的地位;诮(jīng)濟(jì)基礎(chǔ)決定上層建筑的原則,在綜合國力提高的同時(shí),我國在世界上的話語權(quán)地位也在逐漸的變化著。 評價(jià)理論是馬丁等學(xué)者對韓禮德系統(tǒng)功能語法三大元語言功能中人際功能研究的擴(kuò)展。這一理論系統(tǒng)改變了僅從語氣和情態(tài)來研究語言人際功能的局限,為人際意義的研究提供了新的視角。評價(jià)系統(tǒng)關(guān)注說話者/作者用來表達(dá)特定的評價(jià)立場和與實(shí)際的或潛在的應(yīng)答者協(xié)商這些立場的詞匯語言資源。馬丁把詞匯評價(jià)資源做了范疇化描寫,,并歸納為三個(gè)評價(jià)次系統(tǒng):態(tài)度、介入、和級差。它們又可以分別次系統(tǒng)化。 以國家領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人在公共場合的講話為藍(lán)本,本文作者收集了近幾年中西方兩大代表性媒體對其的評論性報(bào)道,共計(jì)10篇。運(yùn)用評價(jià)理論對這些兩大不同來源語篇素材中介入資源分部情況進(jìn)行了對比分析,并對其歷時(shí)性變化進(jìn)行了總結(jié)。通過研究發(fā)現(xiàn): 1.在選取的兩大媒體的新聞?wù)Z篇中,對話擴(kuò)張的運(yùn)用要多于對話收縮,這一現(xiàn)象在中方報(bào)道中尤為明顯,進(jìn)而體現(xiàn)出中國是具有較強(qiáng)包容性的大國。 2.在對話性收縮這一子系統(tǒng)中,中方在否認(rèn)資源的運(yùn)用上,遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)少于西方媒體,而這一現(xiàn)象也體現(xiàn)了中國對待國際經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展積極樂觀的良好形象。而西方媒體對否定資源的大量運(yùn)用,則對中國形象的塑造起到了一個(gè)反面作用,容易引起讀者對中國的錯(cuò)誤認(rèn)識,削弱中國官方言論的威信度,使中國形象背負(fù)上自大、不切實(shí)際的評價(jià)。而在對話性擴(kuò)張中,中西方媒體都大量運(yùn)用摘引這一資源;于中方而言,這能更好的體現(xiàn)負(fù)責(zé)任的大國形象,于西方媒體而言,這能使報(bào)道更加地客觀,并給讀者留有空間。 3.通過對語篇材料的歷時(shí)性研究,中西方媒體在介入系統(tǒng)資源運(yùn)用上的變化趨勢平穩(wěn),但是峰值數(shù)據(jù)處于相反的變化方向。總體而言,從新聞報(bào)道中,樂觀、友好、積極向上的、有責(zé)任感、有權(quán)威性的大國形象被體現(xiàn)了出來,而一些對中國的刻板印象仍然存在,對于中國良好形象的質(zhì)疑及誤解時(shí)有發(fā)生,這些都應(yīng)當(dāng)引起注意。
[Abstract]:In recent years, with the rapid economic development, China's influence in the world has improved significantly, in the political, economic, cultural and other aspects, have a pivotal position. Based on the principle that the economic base determines the superstructure, while the comprehensive national strength is improved, the status of our discourse power in the world is gradually changing. The theory of evaluation is an extension of the study of interpersonal function in the three meta functions of Halliday's systemic functional Grammar by Martin and other scholars. This theory system changes the limitation of studying language interpersonal function only in terms of mood and modality, and provides a new perspective for the study of interpersonal meaning. The evaluation system focuses on the lexical and linguistic resources used by the speaker / author to express specific evaluation positions and to negotiate these positions with actual or potential respondents. Martin classifies lexical evaluation resources into three sub-systems: attitude, intervention, and gradation. They can also be subsystematized. Based on the speeches made by national leaders in public, the author has collected 10 critical reports from two representative western media in recent years. Based on the theory of evaluation, this paper makes a comparative analysis of the involvement of resources in these two different sources of discourse material, and summarizes the diachronic changes. The study found that: 1. In the selected news discourse of the two major media, the use of dialogue expansion is more than dialogue contraction, which is especially evident in Chinese reports, which shows that China is a big country with strong inclusiveness. 2. In the dialogue contraction subsystem, China denies the use of resources far less than the Western media, and this phenomenon also reflects China's positive and optimistic image of international economic development. However, the massive use of negative resources by Western media has played a negative role in shaping the image of China, which easily causes readers to misunderstand China, weakens the prestige of China's official speech, and makes the image of China bear the burden of arrogance. An impractical evaluation. In the process of dialogue expansion, both Chinese and western media use this resource in large quantities; for the Chinese, it can better reflect the image of a responsible power; for the western media, it can make the report more objective and leave room for readers. 3. Through the diachronic study of discourse materials, the trend of media intervention in the use of systematic resources is stable, but the peak data is in the opposite direction. In general, from news reports, the image of a big country that is optimistic, friendly, positive, responsible and authoritative is reflected, while some stereotypes of China still exist. Questions and misunderstandings about China's good image occur from time to time and should be noted.
