基于語料庫的中英學(xué)生書面語中態(tài)度立場表達的對比研究

【摘要】:近幾年來,立場表達法已經(jīng)成為功能語言學(xué)的研究熱點之一。根據(jù)Biber和Finegan (1999,974)的研究,立場傳達了說話者或作者個人的感情、態(tài)度、愿望或者價值評判等。立場的表達可以通過多種語法手段來實現(xiàn)。Biber和Finegan把立場劃分為認識立場、態(tài)度立場、方式立場三個子類。大量的研究結(jié)果表明,學(xué)習(xí)者,特別是把英語作為外語的學(xué)習(xí)者,在態(tài)度立場的使用上存在著多用、少用或用法不夠靈活的現(xiàn)象。 本文結(jié)合定量分析和定性分析的研究方法,主要試圖回答以下幾個問題。第一,中英學(xué)生書面語中態(tài)度立場表達的實現(xiàn)形式是什么?第二,中英學(xué)生書面語中態(tài)度立場表達的相同點和不同點有哪些?第三,中英學(xué)生書面語中態(tài)度立場表達的不同點的可能原因是什么? 本文基于中國學(xué)習(xí)者語料庫(CLEC)和英語學(xué)生書面語語料庫(BAWE)對常用的態(tài)度立場副詞、態(tài)度立場動詞和態(tài)度立場形容詞進行了全面的對比分析,旨在找出中英學(xué)生書面語中態(tài)度立場表達的異同以及不同點的可能原因。本研究采用Wordsmith5.0對Biber和Finegan(1989)調(diào)查的常用的52個態(tài)度立場副詞、40個態(tài)度立場動詞和67個態(tài)度立場形容詞在兩庫中的實現(xiàn)形式分別進行調(diào)查。此外,SPSS17.0和Microsoft Excel被用來檢驗態(tài)度立場在兩庫中的出現(xiàn)頻率上是否存在顯著性差異。 研究結(jié)果顯示,中英學(xué)生書面語中態(tài)度立場表達的使用上的確存在著顯著性的差異。第一,中英學(xué)生書面語中態(tài)度立場的表達主要通過態(tài)度立場副詞、態(tài)度立場動詞的第一種實現(xiàn)形式和態(tài)度立場形容詞的兩種實現(xiàn)形式來實現(xiàn)。第二,,從總體上來說,中國學(xué)習(xí)者過多地使用態(tài)度立場的表達;中英學(xué)生書面語中態(tài)度立場副詞、態(tài)度立場動詞和態(tài)度立場形容詞的出現(xiàn)頻率上均存在著顯著性差異;中國學(xué)習(xí)者更傾向于使用顯性手段來表達他們的態(tài)度情感,然而,英語本族語者更傾向于使用隱性手段。第三,中英學(xué)生書面語中態(tài)度立場表達的不同點的可能原因可以從以下四個方面進行分析:輸入不足,第一語言遷移,不同的語言學(xué)習(xí)環(huán)境和文化差異。 通過對比分析中英學(xué)生書面語中態(tài)度立場表達的相同點和不同點,本文為態(tài)度立場以后的研究提供有用的建議。同時能為教師和學(xué)生們正確、有效地學(xué)習(xí)態(tài)度立場的表達提供有益的啟示,從而提高他們的語言表達能力。
[Abstract]:In recent years, position expression has become one of the hotspots in functional linguistics. According to Biber and Finegan / 1999974, the position conveys the individual feelings, attitudes, wishes, or value judgments of the speaker or author. The expression of position can be realized by a variety of grammatical means. Biber and Finegan divide the position into three subcategories: cognitive position, attitude position and mode position. A large number of studies have shown that learners, especially those who use English as a foreign language, use their attitudes and positions more frequently, use less or use less flexibly. This paper mainly tries to answer the following questions by combining quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis. First, what is the realization form of attitude and position expression in written language of Chinese and English students? Second, what are the similarities and differences of attitudes and positions expressed in the written language of Chinese and English students? Third, what are the possible reasons for the differences in attitudes and positions expressed in the written language of Chinese and English students? Based on the Chinese Learners' Corpus (CLEC) and the English students' written language Corpus, this paper makes a comprehensive comparative analysis of the commonly used attitude position adverbs, attitude position verbs and attitude position adjectives. The purpose of this paper is to find out the similarities and differences between Chinese and English students' attitudes and positions in written language and the possible reasons for their differences. In this study, Wordsmith5.0 was used to investigate 52 commonly used attitude position adverbs, 40 attitude position verbs and 67 attitude position adjectives in the two libraries. In addition, SPSS 17.0 and Microsoft Excel were used to test whether there were significant differences in the frequency of attitude positions in the two libraries. The results show that there is a significant difference in the use of attitude and position in written language between Chinese and English students. Firstly, the expression of attitude position in written language of Chinese and English students is mainly realized by attitude position adverb, the first realization form of attitude position verb and the two realization forms of attitude position adjective. Secondly, generally speaking, Chinese learners use attitude position too much, and there are significant differences in the frequency of attitude position adverbs, attitude position verbs and attitude position adjectives in written language of Chinese and English students. Chinese learners tend to use explicit means to express their attitudes and feelings, however, native English speakers tend to use implicit means. Thirdly, the possible reasons for the differences in attitudes and positions expressed in written language can be analyzed from the following four aspects: insufficient input, first language transfer, different language learning environments and cultural differences. By comparing and analyzing the similarities and differences of attitudes and positions expressed in written English and Chinese, this paper provides useful suggestions for future research on attitude positions. At the same time, it can provide useful inspiration for teachers and students to express their attitudes and positions correctly and effectively, so as to improve their language expression ability.
