認(rèn)知語境在外宣翻譯中的作用

【摘要】:對外宣傳資料作為我國塑造和傳播國家形象的窗口,其翻譯水平直接影響到我國對外交流的成果。尤其是在全球一體化趨勢不斷發(fā)展的今天,外宣翻譯的重要性更是不言而喻。目前外宣翻譯研究的成就主要體現(xiàn)在翻譯批評、翻譯原則、翻譯方法等方面,從認(rèn)知語境的視角探索外宣翻譯的過程還尚不多見。本文從傳統(tǒng)語境向認(rèn)知語境的發(fā)展脈絡(luò)出發(fā),以關(guān)聯(lián)理論的認(rèn)知語境觀為基礎(chǔ),旨在探索認(rèn)知語境在外宣翻譯過程中的限制作用并提出一些切實可行的翻譯方法,以期為外宣翻譯研究提供新的視角并希望能對外宣翻譯工作者有所啟發(fā),提高外宣翻譯水平。本文主要包括以下幾個部分: 第一,傳統(tǒng)語境與認(rèn)知語境的比較研究。通過對國內(nèi)外傳統(tǒng)語境與認(rèn)知語境發(fā)展脈絡(luò)的闡述與比較,筆者發(fā)現(xiàn)認(rèn)知語境更適用于解釋動態(tài)交際。傳統(tǒng)的語境觀認(rèn)為語境是交際發(fā)生時的物理環(huán)境因素與社會文化因素,即從具體的情景中抽取出來對語言的交際主體產(chǎn)生影響的一些因素,它是先于交際而存在的,靜態(tài)的。認(rèn)知語境則認(rèn)為語境是一種心理構(gòu)建體,是聽者關(guān)于世界假設(shè)的一個子集。正是這些假設(shè),而非實際的客觀世界,制約了話語的解釋。相比較靜態(tài)的傳統(tǒng)語境,認(rèn)知語境更好地解釋了交際的動態(tài)過程。 第二,梳理了關(guān)聯(lián)翻譯理論及其認(rèn)知語境觀。關(guān)聯(lián)翻譯理論認(rèn)為翻譯是一種言語交際行為,是交際者根據(jù)其認(rèn)知語境進(jìn)行動態(tài)推理的過程,推理的依據(jù)便是關(guān)聯(lián)性。關(guān)聯(lián)性是一個相對的概念,譯者在翻譯時應(yīng)達(dá)到最佳關(guān)聯(lián),使讀者用最小的處理努力獲得最大的語境效果。因此譯者必須考慮譯文讀者的認(rèn)知語境,努力做到使原文作者的意圖與譯文讀者的企盼相吻合,達(dá)到原文與譯文間的最佳關(guān)聯(lián)。 第三,分析了認(rèn)知語境在外宣翻譯過程中的作用。以天津市2010年達(dá)沃斯論壇與會資料《亮點天津》的翻譯為案例,本文分析了認(rèn)知語境在外宣翻譯過程中的限制與指導(dǎo)作用。翻譯過程依次是:作者撰寫原文的過程,譯者理解原文的過程,以及譯者將原文轉(zhuǎn)化為目的語的過程。 第四,提出了外宣翻譯需遵循的原則和可行的翻譯方法;谕庑g的特點以及對語料的分析,本文最后提出了一些適用于外宣翻譯的原則和方法,即翻譯的闡釋性使用、增譯法、省譯法以及改寫法。
[Abstract]:As the window of shaping and spreading the image of our country, the translation level of foreign propaganda material has a direct impact on the achievement of our country's foreign exchange. Especially in the trend of global integration, the importance of translation is self-evident. At present, the achievements of the study of foreign publicity translation are mainly reflected in translation criticism, translation principles and translation methods, and it is still rare to explore the process of foreign publicity translation from the perspective of cognitive context. Starting from the development of traditional context to cognitive context and based on the cognitive context view of relevance theory, this paper aims to explore the restrictive role of cognitive context in the process of translation and to put forward some practical translation methods. In order to provide a new perspective for the study of foreign publicity translation and hope to enlighten foreign publicity translators to improve the level of foreign publicity translation. This article mainly includes the following parts: First, the comparative study of traditional context and cognitive context. By comparing the development of traditional context and cognitive context at home and abroad, the author finds that cognitive context is more suitable for interpreting dynamic communication. The traditional context view holds that context is the physical environment factor and social and cultural factor when communication occurs, that is to say, some factors that influence the subject of communication are extracted from specific situations, which exist before communication and are static. Cognitive context holds that context is a psychological construct and a subset of the listeners' assumptions about the world. It is these assumptions, rather than the actual objective world, that constrain the interpretation of discourse. Compared with static traditional context, cognitive context better explains the dynamic process of communication. Secondly, this paper combs the relevance translation theory and its cognitive context view. Relevance translation theory holds that translation is a verbal communicative act, which is the process of dynamic inference according to the cognitive context of the communicator, and the basis of inference is relevance. Relevance is a relative concept and the translator should achieve the best relevance in translation so that the reader can achieve the maximum contextual effect with minimal processing. Therefore, the translator must consider the cognitive context of the target readers and try to make the author's intention coincide with the target readers' expectations and achieve the best correlation between the original and the target text. Thirdly, it analyzes the role of cognitive context in the process of translation. Based on the translation of Tianjin Bright spot in 2010 Davos Forum in Tianjin, this paper analyzes the limitations and guiding roles of cognitive context in the process of translation. The process of translation is the process of the author's writing, the translator's understanding of the original, and the translator's transformation of the original into the target language. Fourth, it puts forward the principles and feasible translation methods to be followed. Based on the characteristics of the translation of foreign publicity and the analysis of the corpus, this paper finally puts forward some principles and methods applicable to the translation of foreign publicity, that is, the explanatory use of translation, the method of adding translation, the method of saving translation and the method of rewriting.
