當今翻譯研究的重心正在向語言外部研究偏移。這說明翻譯過程中不僅要注重語言層面的轉(zhuǎn)換,還要把其他因素,諸如譯語語境中的文化、歷史、審美價值觀等考慮在內(nèi)。許多西方學者都致力于翻譯中的語言外部研究,勒費弗爾就是其中之一。勒費弗爾提出了四類操控文學翻譯的因素:贊助人、詩學、論域以及意識形態(tài)。本文考察的重點是意識形態(tài)的操控。任何翻譯活動皆是有原因的,或有一定的目的性、功利性,為特殊團體服務,為一政治目的服務,為一經(jīng)濟利益服務。翻譯文本的選擇很大程度上取決于譯入語的意識形態(tài),同時對意識形態(tài)的發(fā)展也有一定的影響。本文研究的是意識形態(tài)對1898至1937年間中國翻譯文學選材的影響,分為兩個階段進行論述。第一個階段是清末民初時期（1989-1919）。這一時期中國社會正經(jīng)歷著過渡性的大變遷。甲午戰(zhàn)敗,嚴重的民族危機激發(fā)起中國民眾強烈的愛國熱情。許多有識士要求學習西方,改良國家。在改良社會的這種社會意識形態(tài)影響下,外國小說作為改革政治的工具被大量引進。而其中政治小說、偵探小說和科幻小說,由于內(nèi)容新穎,并能起到啟迪民智的作用,備受青睞,構(gòu)成晚清小說全體之關(guān)鍵。第二個階段是五四時期（1920-1937）。當時...
