當(dāng)今翻譯研究的重心正在向語(yǔ)言外部研究偏移。這說(shuō)明翻譯過(guò)程中不僅要注重語(yǔ)言層面的轉(zhuǎn)換,還要把其他因素,諸如譯語(yǔ)語(yǔ)境中的文化、歷史、審美價(jià)值觀等考慮在內(nèi)。許多西方學(xué)者都致力于翻譯中的語(yǔ)言外部研究,勒費(fèi)弗爾就是其中之一。勒費(fèi)弗爾提出了四類操控文學(xué)翻譯的因素:贊助人、詩(shī)學(xué)、論域以及意識(shí)形態(tài)。本文考察的重點(diǎn)是意識(shí)形態(tài)的操控。任何翻譯活動(dòng)皆是有原因的,或有一定的目的性、功利性,為特殊團(tuán)體服務(wù),為一政治目的服務(wù),為一經(jīng)濟(jì)利益服務(wù)。翻譯文本的選擇很大程度上取決于譯入語(yǔ)的意識(shí)形態(tài),同時(shí)對(duì)意識(shí)形態(tài)的發(fā)展也有一定的影響。本文研究的是意識(shí)形態(tài)對(duì)1898至1937年間中國(guó)翻譯文學(xué)選材的影響,分為兩個(gè)階段進(jìn)行論述。第一個(gè)階段是清末民初時(shí)期（1989-1919）。這一時(shí)期中國(guó)社會(huì)正經(jīng)歷著過(guò)渡性的大變遷。甲午戰(zhàn)敗,嚴(yán)重的民族危機(jī)激發(fā)起中國(guó)民眾強(qiáng)烈的愛(ài)國(guó)熱情。許多有識(shí)士要求學(xué)習(xí)西方,改良國(guó)家。在改良社會(huì)的這種社會(huì)意識(shí)形態(tài)影響下,外國(guó)小說(shuō)作為改革政治的工具被大量引進(jìn)。而其中政治小說(shuō)、偵探小說(shuō)和科幻小說(shuō),由于內(nèi)容新穎,并能起到啟迪民智的作用,備受青睞,構(gòu)成晚清小說(shuō)全體之關(guān)鍵。第二個(gè)階段是五四時(shí)期（1920-1937）。當(dāng)時(shí)...
