鑒于中西文化的巨大差異,筆者認(rèn)為適合中國(guó)國(guó)情的譯論體系建設(shè)離不開對(duì)中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)譯論的梳理和再發(fā)現(xiàn)以及對(duì)中國(guó)譯者翻譯實(shí)踐的研究,所以,筆者在此選取文化交流大使林語(yǔ)堂作為研究論題,希望通過(guò)對(duì)其翻譯理論及實(shí)踐的研究,為此做出自己的貢獻(xiàn)。筆者認(rèn)為,林語(yǔ)堂的翻譯理論實(shí)際上已形成了一個(gè)相對(duì)完整的辯證體系。他較早地認(rèn)識(shí)到了譯者以及譯文讀者在翻譯過(guò)程中的重要作用,因此他以不同于前人及同代人態(tài)度,將譯者和譯文讀者納入了其翻譯理論論述范圍之內(nèi)。換言之,林語(yǔ)堂的翻譯理論涉及了翻譯過(guò)程的幾個(gè)重要因素,包括原文、譯者、譯文讀者和譯文。而在對(duì)這些因素進(jìn)行論述時(shí),林語(yǔ)堂的態(tài)度可謂辯證而中肯。一方面,作為翻譯出發(fā)點(diǎn)的原文必須得到尊重,所以譯文應(yīng)忠實(shí)于原文。另一方面,由于百分百忠實(shí)不具有操作性而譯文又是為譯文讀者服務(wù)的,所以譯文在忠實(shí)的同時(shí)還應(yīng)符合譯文讀者的閱讀習(xí)慣。至于譯者,一方面,受其實(shí)際能力和個(gè)人觀念的影響,他在原文解讀和譯文創(chuàng)作過(guò)程中必然具有一定的主觀性,所以他是譯文產(chǎn)生過(guò)程中的一個(gè)主觀決定因素;另一方面,由于原文在翻譯活動(dòng)中具有重要地位,且原文譯文兩個(gè)語(yǔ)言文化系統(tǒng)之間的差異有時(shí)甚至不可跨越,所以譯者對(duì)譯文的影響力...
