【摘要】:在19世紀文化轉向出現(xiàn)之前,傳統(tǒng)的翻譯觀要求譯者在翻譯過程中“隱身”并盡可能地忠實原作以確保譯文的精準,而譯者的身份則被視為“仆人”,“媒婆”,“翻譯機器”,“戴著鐐銬的舞者”等。文化轉向之后,越來越多的研究者意識到翻譯不僅僅是兩種語言之間的符號轉換,更重要的是兩種文化之間的交流,由此,譯者的身份重新得以確認,其主體性在翻譯過程中亦得到了充分體現(xiàn)。 《論語》作為中國古代經(jīng)典著作之一,近年來獲得了越來越多國內(nèi)外學者和讀者的關注。因此,有關《論語》英譯本的研究亦成為中國學者的研究對象,其中大部分的研究主要評論諸多《論語》英譯本的翻譯質量。由于譯者在翻譯過程中的作用是舉足輕重的,本論文選擇從譯者主體性視角對《論語》五譯本進行對比分析,目的不在于單純評價孰優(yōu)孰劣,而是著重分析各譯本的差異并嘗試挖掘譯者對譯本多樣性形成過程中起到的決定性作用。 全文分為六章。第一章介紹了該論文的研究背景,研究動機及論文框架。第二章回顧了現(xiàn)有的《論語》英譯版本及前人對眾譯本的研究。第三章介紹了本文的理論支撐:闡釋學和翻譯目的論。第四章節(jié)從翻譯的理解階段和表達階段分別論述了譯者主體性是造成譯本多樣性現(xiàn)象的必然動因,如:譯者的翻譯目的、翻譯策略以及對譯入語讀者接受能力的考量,并在第五章節(jié)專門研究了若干儒家思想如“仁”、“禮”、“君子”、“小人”等關鍵詞匯的不同翻譯及動因。第六章總結了主要的研究發(fā)現(xiàn)。 譯者的主體性決定了他們對同一源文本可能存在多種理解,進而產(chǎn)生了譯本多樣性的現(xiàn)象。由于受制于特定的文化和時代背景,譯者可能具備不同的翻譯目的,在面對不同的讀者群體時也會采取不同的翻譯策略。因此在一定限度內(nèi),譯者有權利對原作擁有獨創(chuàng)性的理解并產(chǎn)生個體譯本?紤]到這些因素,語言研究者才能從更加科學和全面的角度對待譯本多樣性的現(xiàn)象。
[Abstract]:Before the emergence of the cultural shift in 19th century, the traditional view of translation required the translator to be "invisible" in the process of translation and to be faithful to the original as much as possible in order to ensure the accuracy of the translation, while the translator's identity was regarded as a "servant". After "matchmaker", "translation machine", "chained dancer" and so on, more and more researchers realize that translation is not just a symbol conversion between two languages. What is more important is the communication between the two cultures so that the translator's identity can be reconfirmed and the subjectivity of the translator is fully reflected in the process of translation. As one of the classical works in ancient China, Analects of Analects has attracted more and more attention of scholars and readers at home and abroad in recent years. Therefore, the study on the English translation of the Analects of Confucius has also become the object of study by Chinese scholars. Most of the studies mainly focus on the translation quality of many Analects of Confucius translation because the translator plays an important role in the translation process. From the perspective of the translator's subjectivity, this thesis makes a comparative analysis of the five versions of the Analects of Confucius. The purpose of this thesis is not to evaluate which is better than the other. It focuses on the analysis of the differences between the different versions and attempts to explore the decisive role played by the translator in the formation of translation diversity. The first chapter introduces the research background of this thesis. Chapter two reviews the English versions of the Analects of Confucius and the previous studies on the various versions of the Analects of Confucius. Chapter three introduces the theoretical support of this thesis. Hermeneutics and Skopos Theory. Chapter 4th discusses that the translator's subjectivity is the inevitable cause of the diversity of the translation from the stage of understanding and the stage of expression. For example, the translator's translation purpose, translation strategy and the acceptance ability of the target reader are considered, and some Confucian thoughts such as "benevolence", "propriety" and "gentleman" are studied in chapter 5th. Different translation and motivation of key words, such as "Little Man". Chapter 6th summarizes the main findings. The translator's subjectivity determines that they may have a variety of understandings of the same source text, which in turn leads to the phenomenon of diversity in the translation, which is subject to specific cultural and contemporary backgrounds. Translators may have different translation purposes and adopt different translation strategies in the face of different readers. The translator has the right to have an original understanding of the original work and to produce an individual translation. Taking these factors into account, language researchers can approach the phenomenon of translation diversity from a more scientific and comprehensive perspective.
