【摘要】：在19世紀,近30萬美國華裔勞工遠涉大洋到美國謀生,他們用辛勞和智慧為美國西部的開發(fā)與房展做出了巨大貢獻,引起了美國白人的興趣和以華裔勞工為題材的文學創(chuàng)作,19世紀的美國文學中最流行的華裔勞工形象是奴仆,小丑和惡棍,這些形象與歷史真實和其真實形象反差巨大,埋沒了其優(yōu)秀品質,‘是對華裔勞工的歪曲和丑化,也是侮辱和傷害；社會地位低下的華裔勞工,無力反駁,也無法糾正他們被歪曲的形象�！芯�19世紀美國文學中被歪曲的美國華裔勞工形象有助于辨明事實,展示真相,反駁歪曲,有利于保護華裔勞工利益,促進中美勞工交流。本論文用六章來論述19世紀美國文學中被歪曲的美國華裔勞工形象,第一章是緒論,提出對19世紀美國文學中被歪曲的美國華裔勞工形象進行研究的論題,綜述國內(nèi)外的研究現(xiàn)狀以及研究的意義、研究思路和文學形象的相關理論。第二章論述在19世紀的美國最流行的被歪曲的華裔勞工形象是布勒特·哈特,馬克·吐溫,諾爾和杜納等代表作家的小說,詩歌,戲劇中軟弱可欺的奴仆中國佬約翰,荒唐可笑的小丑阿辛和恐怖的惡棍付滿洲。第三章回顧19世紀美國華裔勞工的歷史,旨在論述其文學形象與歷史真實反差巨大,是對華裔勞工的嚴重歪曲。第四章論述文學作品中華裔勞工的真實形象,在熟知華裔勞工外部表現(xiàn)和內(nèi)心世界的作家的作品中,他們年輕,強壯,友善,勇敢,勤儉和睿智,是華裔英雄,是對歪曲的華裔勞工形象的有力反駁。第五章論述華裔勞工形象被歪曲的原因,指出國家軟弱,政治壓迫,經(jīng)濟掠奪是根本原因,華裔勞工的某些不足是其被歪曲的客觀原因,白人作家的名利目的和白人讀者獵奇心態(tài)是華裔勞工被歪曲的主觀原因,種族和文化差異造成的認知障礙造成白人作家誤寫和白人讀者誤讀,導致被歪曲華裔勞工形象在美國泛濫。第六章是結論,指出強壯國民,強大國力,關注華裔勞工的命運,捍衛(wèi)華裔勞工的利益是糾正其被歪曲形象的根本途徑。
