【摘要】：在19世紀(jì),近30萬美國華裔勞工遠(yuǎn)涉大洋到美國謀生,他們用辛勞和智慧為美國西部的開發(fā)與房展做出了巨大貢獻(xiàn),引起了美國白人的興趣和以華裔勞工為題材的文學(xué)創(chuàng)作,19世紀(jì)的美國文學(xué)中最流行的華裔勞工形象是奴仆,小丑和惡棍,這些形象與歷史真實(shí)和其真實(shí)形象反差巨大,埋沒了其優(yōu)秀品質(zhì),‘是對(duì)華裔勞工的歪曲和丑化,也是侮辱和傷害；社會(huì)地位低下的華裔勞工,無力反駁,也無法糾正他們被歪曲的形象。’研究19世紀(jì)美國文學(xué)中被歪曲的美國華裔勞工形象有助于辨明事實(shí),展示真相,反駁歪曲,有利于保護(hù)華裔勞工利益,促進(jìn)中美勞工交流。本論文用六章來論述19世紀(jì)美國文學(xué)中被歪曲的美國華裔勞工形象,第一章是緒論,提出對(duì)19世紀(jì)美國文學(xué)中被歪曲的美國華裔勞工形象進(jìn)行研究的論題,綜述國內(nèi)外的研究現(xiàn)狀以及研究的意義、研究思路和文學(xué)形象的相關(guān)理論。第二章論述在19世紀(jì)的美國最流行的被歪曲的華裔勞工形象是布勒特·哈特,馬克·吐溫,諾爾和杜納等代表作家的小說,詩歌,戲劇中軟弱可欺的奴仆中國佬約翰,荒唐可笑的小丑阿辛和恐怖的惡棍付滿洲。第三章回顧19世紀(jì)美國華裔勞工的歷史,旨在論述其文學(xué)形象與歷史真實(shí)反差巨大,是對(duì)華裔勞工的嚴(yán)重歪曲。第四章論述文學(xué)作品中華裔勞工的真實(shí)形象,在熟知華裔勞工外部表現(xiàn)和內(nèi)心世界的作家的作品中,他們年輕,強(qiáng)壯,友善,勇敢,勤儉和睿智,是華裔英雄,是對(duì)歪曲的華裔勞工形象的有力反駁。第五章論述華裔勞工形象被歪曲的原因,指出國家軟弱,政治壓迫,經(jīng)濟(jì)掠奪是根本原因,華裔勞工的某些不足是其被歪曲的客觀原因,白人作家的名利目的和白人讀者獵奇心態(tài)是華裔勞工被歪曲的主觀原因,種族和文化差異造成的認(rèn)知障礙造成白人作家誤寫和白人讀者誤讀,導(dǎo)致被歪曲華裔勞工形象在美國泛濫。第六章是結(jié)論,指出強(qiáng)壯國民,強(qiáng)大國力,關(guān)注華裔勞工的命運(yùn),捍衛(wèi)華裔勞工的利益是糾正其被歪曲形象的根本途徑。
