蘭斯頓·休斯是二十世紀(jì)美國黑人文學(xué)史上最具影響力的人物之一。在幾乎所有的文學(xué)體裁中,他的才華都得到展示,但是他對黑人文學(xué)的主要貢獻(xiàn)在于他將爵士和布魯斯的音樂元素新穎地融入傳統(tǒng)詩歌中。許多論文的主題大多分析其詩歌的音樂元素,或是他作品中反映的美國社會底層的黑人生活。然而,在其他人文學(xué)科(尤其是現(xiàn)在日益熱門的民族、種族學(xué)科)和后殖民主義文學(xué)理論的影響下,越來越多的研究者對其作品中的黑人身份產(chǎn)生濃厚興趣。我認(rèn)為,在他近四十年的創(chuàng)作生涯中,蘭斯頓·休斯一直都在努力,試圖在美國文學(xué)史中構(gòu)建起一個合理正當(dāng)?shù)拿绹谌松矸荨?這篇論文從四個方面展開:種族,歷史,政治和文化。在種族方面,蘭斯頓·休斯沒有取得太大突破,但是在歷史層面他的確確立了黑人的身份,并且在政治層面進(jìn)一步提升了他們的地位。最后,作為一位世界主義者,休斯基于一個共同的美國夢想,一個為全人類所渴望的共同心愿,歌頌了各色人種的融合。因此,他作品中的黑人身份更像是一個不斷向上流動的過程。在這一過程中,美國黑人努力獲得其公民權(quán)利,地位逐漸得到提升。在過去三百多年間,他們這種浸透著鮮血和生命的不懈奮斗是值得的,令人敬佩的。 ...
