本論文應(yīng)用文本互文性及相關(guān)理論對美國當(dāng)代劇作家托尼·庫什勒的劇作《天使在美國》中與圣經(jīng)，歷史及其他文學(xué)作品的“交織”現(xiàn)象作了深入的分析和探索。通過對互文的分析，本文旨在解釋庫什勒關(guān)于道德問題和歷史進(jìn)程關(guān)系間的思考。他認(rèn)為例如，愛，責(zé)任和寬恕，這些道德價值觀念是蘊含且超越任意文本，重新肯定和確認(rèn)這些價值觀念在美國現(xiàn)代社會中的地位是推動歷史進(jìn)步的真正動力。 本論文共分為四個章節(jié)。第一章是文獻(xiàn)綜述。這一部分我總結(jié)了前人對這部劇作的研究，且回顧了文本互文性的理論發(fā)展歷程。整篇論文的理論框架建立在巴赫金的對話理論和克里斯蒂娃在此基礎(chǔ)上發(fā)展的互文性理論。在第二章中，我分析了劇作與圣經(jīng)文本間的互相交織。第三章集中研究劇作與歷史文本間的關(guān)系。第四章的重點在劇作與西方文學(xué)作品的關(guān)系。 在美國以及西方現(xiàn)代社會面臨精神和道德危機的時候，庫什勒提出對傳統(tǒng)觀念的回歸和重新確立。這種肯定的態(tài)度是對當(dāng)前所倡導(dǎo)的后現(xiàn)代性的顛覆和懷疑一切的一種強烈沖擊。這種重新審視傳統(tǒng)的態(tài)度對文化發(fā)展趨勢有著積極的影響。
