美國當代黑人女作家艾利斯·沃克(Alice Walker, 1944-)的第四部小說《我知交的神殿》是她早期小說邏輯上的延伸。就探討的主題而言,是她所倡導的婦女主義思想的進一步發(fā)展。當她筆下的婦女擺脫了種種壓迫,獲得解放后,她又賦予筆下的人物以新的追求。在小說中,她重新構建了人類的歷史,探究了從遠古到現代人類對女神的崇拜,并且重新構建了新時代下婦女主義內在的精神實質。此外,在探索歷史上男人和女人之間紛繁復雜的關系時,她重新界定兩性之間的和諧關系應該建立在平等的基礎之上,并強調尊重個性自由的觀點。最后,沃克根據自己婦女主義的獨特的目標,賦予人類和一切非人類以神性。并倡導要以女性為榜樣,創(chuàng)造自然與人類的和諧統(tǒng)一。就此,在這部小說中,沃克所要探索的人類的真正的解放之路,以及新時代下的婦女主義得到了進一步發(fā)展。
