【摘要】：本文選取2012年諾貝爾文學獎獲得者莫言的代表作《紅高粱家族》及被譽為“西方世界最具權威的中國文學翻譯家”葛浩文的英譯本為研究對象，旨在從關聯(lián)理論的視角探討文學作品漢譯英過程中的文化翻譯問題。 傳統(tǒng)觀點認為，翻譯活動僅僅是兩種語言間的轉換，是一種交際行為，卻忽視了隱藏在語言文字背后的深層次的文化問題。其實，譯者在翻譯過程中遇到的最大困難不是語言障礙，而是文化差異。翻譯是不同文化交流的紐帶，它歸根到底是一種跨文化交際行為。加深對文化翻譯問題的研究不僅能完善現(xiàn)有的翻譯理論，更能保證譯者在正確的理論指導下開展翻譯活動，實現(xiàn)對文學作品中文化信息的準確傳達，這對世界文化的傳播有著至關重要的意義。 近些年，關聯(lián)理論，作為認知語用學領域的交際理論，被越來越多的人運用于翻譯理論研究上。關聯(lián)理論的核心問題是語言交際與認知，核心概念是關聯(lián)性。關聯(lián)性受兩方面因素的制約：語境效果和推理努力。在同等條件下，語境效果越強，則關聯(lián)性越大；推理努力越小，則關聯(lián)性越大。關聯(lián)理論認為，話語交際的過程就是尋求最佳關聯(lián)性的過程，即聽者或讀者在話語理解時付出有效的努力后，，能夠獲得足夠的語境效果。 文化負載詞翻譯問題是國外翻譯家在翻譯中國文學作品時遇到的最為典型的難題。本文按照不同的文化因素，把《紅高粱家族》中的典型性文化負載詞分為物質、生態(tài)、社會、宗教和語言五大類。運用關聯(lián)翻譯理論，對五類文化負載詞進行個案研究。參照最佳關聯(lián)性的評價標準，對葛浩文的英文譯本中文化負載詞的翻譯進行分析，進而指出他的譯本中可圈可點之處和可改進的地方。最后，本文總結出處理文化負載詞翻譯的原則，策略和技巧。
