【摘要】：《論語(yǔ)》是儒家經(jīng)典的重要組成部分之一，因此其翻譯是中外文化交流的重要內(nèi)容。論文選取著名蘇格蘭漢學(xué)家理雅各在1893年翻譯的《中國(guó)經(jīng)典》，以及中國(guó)清朝術(shù)年民國(guó)初期文壇怪杰辜鴻銘翻譯的兩部具有代表性的《論語(yǔ)》的英譯本，依據(jù)奈達(dá)的功能對(duì)等理論以及德國(guó)功能翻譯理論，從語(yǔ)言、文化兩方面進(jìn)行對(duì)比研究，，以求探索、揭示中國(guó)古代文獻(xiàn)的翻譯規(guī)律。 論文的總論簡(jiǎn)介《論語(yǔ)》的版本、內(nèi)容、發(fā)展歷史，揭示《論語(yǔ)》西傳的情況，回顧學(xué)者對(duì)《論語(yǔ)》英譯的研究成果。論文的第二章基于奈達(dá)的功能對(duì)等理論，從詞匯、句法與風(fēng)格三個(gè)層次分析兩個(gè)譯本的語(yǔ)言得失，驗(yàn)證譯文是否呈現(xiàn)了與原文最自然、貼切的對(duì)等表述以及其相應(yīng)的方法。論文的第三章基于德國(guó)功能翻譯理論，分析兩個(gè)譯本在良名，特別是人名，物質(zhì)文化等方面的翻譯策略：歸化或者異化。根據(jù)功能翻譯理論最重要的理論目的論，翻譯目的決定翻譯行為。譯者在翻譯過(guò)程中總是自覺(jué)或不自覺(jué)地以某個(gè)譯本接受者為對(duì)象，使得譯本在目的語(yǔ)中具有某種功能。翻譯的目的不同，會(huì)產(chǎn)生截然不同的翻譯策略。譯本各有千秋，讀者也應(yīng)該根據(jù)自己的閱讀興趣與需要，選擇不同的譯本。
