伊麗莎白·蓋斯凱爾小說中人物的兩性越位的研究

本論文把兩性問題置于了最顯著的地位,在蓋斯凱爾的小說中性別特征的界定與倫理上個性的誠實與否密切相關(guān),打破這種傳統(tǒng)道德上的范式也總是同時穿越了兩性的傳統(tǒng)觀念以及行為的界限。更具體地說,本篇論文所關(guān)注的是伊麗莎白?蓋斯凱爾怎樣以兩性角色的倒置、越位沖刺與挑戰(zhàn)了傳統(tǒng)中心地位的兩性倫理道德觀。伊麗莎白?蓋斯凱爾顛覆了這種傳統(tǒng)的兩性道德模式,探索了當(dāng)男性開始青睞謊言,女性趨向誠實各領(lǐng)域所發(fā)生的變化。盡管許多作家在性別特征的越位及倫理固有模式的背叛上具有相似性,但蓋斯凱爾在這一問題上的探索卻深入到了迥然不同的意識形態(tài)領(lǐng)域。蓋斯凱爾推崇自由的兩性角色的交叉與滲透,這或許緩和了兩性間的沖突,而又不致觸及中產(chǎn)階級兩性角色模式的本質(zhì)。她希求通過為中產(chǎn)階級女性抒發(fā)的適度,而非具破壞性,極端性的話語,來取得這樣的效果,也因此把女性的權(quán)利與中產(chǎn)階級更廣闊的前景聯(lián)系了起來。伊麗莎白?蓋斯凱爾聯(lián)系中產(chǎn)階級的多層次的思想意識模式芻以窺視女性的地位,這一視角使她能夠呈現(xiàn)出動態(tài)的兩性倫理與心理的越位與反叛,也使我們窺見了她旨在維護囿于其中的意識形態(tài)領(lǐng)域的等級、秩序的矛盾心理。
