本論文主要從族裔女性角度研究了美國(guó)華裔女作家湯亭亭的《中國(guó)佬》以及她對(duì)華裔男性英雄主義的重構(gòu)。英雄主義的建構(gòu)在華裔文學(xué)寫(xiě)作中是個(gè)極富爭(zhēng)議性的問(wèn)題。美國(guó)主流文化往往將中國(guó)華工形象極度刻板化，中國(guó)男子要么極度狡猾，奸詐，要么非常溫順、沉默和極度容易被同化。 而以趙健秀為代表的男性華裔作家倡導(dǎo)一種建立在中國(guó)古代英雄俠義傳統(tǒng)上的英雄主義。他們認(rèn)為真實(shí)的創(chuàng)作緣于亞洲的神話傳統(tǒng)和儒家的英雄傳統(tǒng)，但他們所倡導(dǎo)的英雄傳統(tǒng)一方面往往與暴力，戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)，復(fù)仇聯(lián)系在一起，另一方面這種英雄傳統(tǒng)是一種忽視女性存在的英雄主義。而在華裔女性文本中，男性要么缺席，要么被虛化成猥瑣無(wú)力的角色。湯亭亭則從女性的視角以自己獨(dú)特的方式通過(guò)對(duì)主流文化的模擬、改造和重建來(lái)表現(xiàn)中國(guó)華裔男性的英雄主義。該小說(shuō)在華裔男性英雄主義的重構(gòu)方面可以說(shuō)是填漏補(bǔ)缺之作。 該論文將主要從三個(gè)方面入手探討湯亭亭對(duì)中國(guó)華裔男性英雄主義的重建。第一方面從內(nèi)容和主題的角度探討了華裔男性的英雄主義�！吨袊�(guó)佬》以家族史和編年史的方式展示了從曾祖父到父親三代人開(kāi)拓美國(guó)西部以及為美國(guó)社會(huì)所做出的巨大貢獻(xiàn)和所遭受的非人待遇，從而表現(xiàn)出一種無(wú)與倫比的英雄氣概。...
