現(xiàn)階段,文學(xué)批評(píng)和文體分析是分析文學(xué)作品的兩大方法。人們對(duì)文學(xué)作品的分析由來(lái)已久。被作為分析對(duì)象的作品通常多數(shù)是從文學(xué)批評(píng)的角度,從系統(tǒng)功能語(yǔ)言學(xué)的角度進(jìn)行的分析較少。 系統(tǒng)功能語(yǔ)言學(xué)把語(yǔ)言看成為社會(huì)意義系統(tǒng),它是以系統(tǒng)理論為基礎(chǔ)的,這一理論認(rèn)為語(yǔ)言或任何符號(hào)系統(tǒng)是相互連鎖與選項(xiàng)結(jié)合的系統(tǒng)。韓禮德認(rèn)為,“系統(tǒng)”與“系統(tǒng)”的結(jié)合構(gòu)成了“系統(tǒng)網(wǎng)絡(luò)”。其中又包含哪些系統(tǒng)呢?功能語(yǔ)法認(rèn)為所有文化都會(huì)在語(yǔ)言中反映出具有普遍意義的元功能或純理功能,即概念功能、人際功能和語(yǔ)篇功能。在這些元功能之下,根據(jù)語(yǔ)言用途又劃分出若干語(yǔ)義功能及相應(yīng)的子系統(tǒng)。這三種功能同等重要,韓禮德把它們視為“意義潛勢(shì)”。 用系統(tǒng)功能語(yǔ)言學(xué)分析語(yǔ)篇有兩個(gè)目的,這些目的是通過(guò)對(duì)語(yǔ)篇進(jìn)行描述分析和解釋評(píng)價(jià)來(lái)完成的。一是通過(guò)描述分析來(lái)理解語(yǔ)篇是如何把意義表達(dá)清楚的,為什么要這樣表達(dá);二是通過(guò)分析來(lái)解釋評(píng)價(jià)語(yǔ)篇,說(shuō)明文章的主題意義和深刻內(nèi)涵。 短篇小說(shuō)《警察與贊美詩(shī)》是美國(guó)著名短篇小說(shuō)家歐·亨利的一部經(jīng)典作品。歷代學(xué)者從文學(xué)評(píng)論的角度對(duì)其主題意義的探討舉不勝舉。本篇論文將試圖從系統(tǒng)功能語(yǔ)言學(xué)的角度入手對(duì)其進(jìn)行文體分析,進(jìn)一步探討主題意...
