威廉·�？思{是美國文學(xué)史上一位非常著名的現(xiàn)代主義作家。本文通過對在其名著《押沙龍，押沙龍!》的后現(xiàn)代主義手法的研究表明，�？思{也是一位后現(xiàn)代主義大家。 一九九九年在�？思{家鄉(xiāng)召開的福克納年會以《�？思{與后現(xiàn)代主義》為題，旨在敦促人們?nèi)パ芯孔鳛樾≌f技巧實驗家�？思{的后現(xiàn)代主義思想。二十世紀(jì)四、五十年代后現(xiàn)代主義開始嶄露頭角，可是在此之前的三十年代福克納已經(jīng)在他的作品中廣泛地運用后現(xiàn)代主義思想和技巧。這篇論文首先對現(xiàn)代主義和后現(xiàn)代主義作一個大概的比較，表明兩者的最大不同在于其在作品當(dāng)中運用那些思想和技巧的程度。這個可以從后現(xiàn)代主義者和現(xiàn)代主義者他們的口號當(dāng)中看得出來，前者倡導(dǎo)“求新”，后者強(qiáng)調(diào)“求異”，一字之差反映了后現(xiàn)代主義者的基本思想：他們更注重事物變化的本質(zhì)。同時這篇論文也指出了后現(xiàn)代主義的三個特征：（1）不確定性廣泛存在于后現(xiàn)代主義的作品當(dāng)中，是因為后現(xiàn)代主義者對語言、有機(jī)世界、認(rèn)知世界感到懷疑；（2）后現(xiàn)代主義毫不隱瞞其對文本當(dāng)中的權(quán)威對話感到懷疑，所以，作為對權(quán)威之一的父權(quán)的反對是后現(xiàn)代主義作品的特征；（3）許多后現(xiàn)代主義者，尤其是元小說主義者表達(dá)了對語言本身和口頭敘述的...
