[Abstract]:As one of the two sources of western culture, the literariness of the Bible has been paid more and more attention by Chinese and foreign scholars. As one of the most outstanding works in the intelligent literature of the Bible, Job attracted countless scholars to study it with its unique narrative skills. Based on the careful reading of the text and the review of literature criticism, the author finds that the narrative skills of Job are mainly reflected in three aspects: the unique and exquisite characterization, the ingenious application of the focus and the arrangement of the plot scene under the U-shaped narrative structure. This paper analyzes the unique narrative skills in Job by using Baeffertt's theory of direct and indirect characterization, Genette's focusing theory and Frye's U-shaped narrative mode theory. First of all, this paper mainly studies the unique characterization in Job. The narrator portrays Job as a circular character by using the narrative technique of direct and indirect characters, which is not only the wise man and the righteous in the eyes of God, but also the complainant of God. In addition, the narrator portrays God as a circular character, both the omniscience and the good. Legislation is the representative of flat characters, the former is described as hypocrite, the latter is a clown, Satan is the most typical flat character in the narrator's works: a heinous image. Then this paper focuses on the unique application of zero focus and infinitesimal internal focus in Job. The narrator makes the characters under different focusing modes show their different ways of thinking, and makes them jointly promote the development of narration and convey the implied implication of the works. Finally, this paper focuses on the unique arrangement of the plot scene in the U-shaped narrative mode in Job. The four plot scenes about the development of Job's fate were cleverly placed under the U-shaped structure: Job in the prelude changed from rich to empty, the conflict between Job and three friends in the stage of development, the climax of God's meeting with Job in the whirlwind, and Job's return to prosperity at the end. Obviously, these four scenes follow the biblical U-shaped narrative model: starting with prosperity and harmony, then suffering, and finally enjoying prosperity. The interpretation of Job from the perspective of narrative skills can provide a new perspective for the narratological study of biblical literature, especially for the study of Job.
