從評(píng)價(jià)理論看《傲慢與偏見(jiàn)》的人際意義

【摘要】:評(píng)價(jià)理論是20世紀(jì)90年代崛起的一個(gè)新理論,它由馬丁教授提出,是基于系統(tǒng)功能語(yǔ)言學(xué)人際意義的研究發(fā)展起來(lái)的。它關(guān)注對(duì)語(yǔ)篇的“賦值語(yǔ)義”的研究,將更多的詞匯資源納入到研究框架中來(lái)。本研究以評(píng)價(jià)理論為理論框架,通過(guò)對(duì)世界經(jīng)典名著《傲慢與偏見(jiàn)》中對(duì)話(huà)的分析,研究對(duì)話(huà)中評(píng)價(jià)資源的分布特征,以及男女主人公如何利用語(yǔ)言來(lái)表達(dá)態(tài)度,實(shí)現(xiàn)人際意義,并分析評(píng)價(jià)資源如何揭示人物的性格特征。 簡(jiǎn)·奧斯汀的代表作《傲慢與偏見(jiàn)》是最廣為流傳和最受歡迎的一部作品,自其出版以來(lái)已從不同角度被大量的研究和討論,但研究大多集中于女性主義、反諷以及婚姻觀,,盡管也有對(duì)話(huà)語(yǔ)分析及其人際意義的研究,但研究大多局限于從情態(tài)和語(yǔ)氣以及文體的角度探討的,小說(shuō)話(huà)語(yǔ)的獨(dú)特性奠定了其人際意義的復(fù)雜性,從情態(tài)和語(yǔ)氣的角度去研究是遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)不夠的,以往研究忽視了對(duì)話(huà)語(yǔ)的“賦值語(yǔ)義”的研究,評(píng)價(jià)理論正好補(bǔ)足了這一不足。 本文通過(guò)定量和定性的分析方法,結(jié)合評(píng)價(jià)理論三個(gè)子系統(tǒng)對(duì)所選語(yǔ)料的分析。通過(guò)分析發(fā)現(xiàn):評(píng)價(jià)資源被小說(shuō)作者廣泛用于協(xié)商態(tài)度、促進(jìn)人物交流以及刻畫(huà)人物形象;評(píng)價(jià)理論是實(shí)現(xiàn)人際意義的有效工具;人物對(duì)話(huà)中評(píng)價(jià)資源分布的變化也揭示了人物思想以及關(guān)系的變化。本研究提供一個(gè)新視角幫助讀者理解評(píng)價(jià)理論在解讀文學(xué)作品中的重要意義,從而更深刻地分析人物的內(nèi)心思想?偟膩(lái)說(shuō),本文對(duì)評(píng)價(jià)理論的貢獻(xiàn)在于將它應(yīng)用于文學(xué)作品中,同時(shí)也幫助讀者更深刻的解讀文學(xué)作品。本文旨在探索評(píng)價(jià)資源是如何實(shí)現(xiàn)小說(shuō)話(huà)語(yǔ)中的人際意義,以及作品中人物關(guān)系的進(jìn)展是如何隨著評(píng)價(jià)資源的變化而變化的。
[Abstract]:Evaluation theory is a new theory that rose in 1990s. It was put forward by Professor Martin and developed based on the interpersonal meaning of systemic functional linguistics. It pays close attention to the study of assignment semantics and brings more lexical resources into the research framework. Based on the theory of evaluation, this study analyzes the dialogs in the world classic Pride and Prejudice, studies the distribution of evaluation resources and how the protagonists use language to express their attitudes. Realize interpersonal meaning and analyze how the evaluation resources reveal the character characteristics of the characters. Jane Austen's masterpiece Pride and Prejudice is one of the most popular and popular works, which has been widely studied and discussed from different angles since its publication. Although there are also studies on discourse analysis and its interpersonal meaning, most of the studies are confined to the study of modality, mood and style. The uniqueness of the discourse of the novel lays down the complexity of its interpersonal meaning. It is far from enough to study from the perspective of modality and mood. Previous studies have neglected the study of "assignment semantics" of discourse, which is complemented by the theory of evaluation. In this paper, quantitative and qualitative analysis methods, combined with the evaluation theory of the three subsystems of the selected corpus analysis. Through the analysis, it is found that the evaluation resources are widely used by the writers to negotiate, promote the communication and portray the characters, and that the evaluation theory is an effective tool to realize the interpersonal meaning. The change of the distribution of evaluation resources in character dialogue also reveals the change of characters' thought and relationship. This study provides a new perspective to help readers understand the significance of evaluation theory in the interpretation of literary works, so as to analyze the inner thoughts of the characters more deeply. In general, the contribution of this paper to evaluation theory is to apply it to literary works and to help readers to interpret literary works more deeply. The purpose of this paper is to explore how the evaluation resources realize the interpersonal meaning in the novel discourse and how the development of the relationship between the characters in the works changes with the change of the evaluation resources.
