論塞林格的小說與東方宗教文化

【摘要】:杰羅姆·大衛(wèi)·塞林格是一個(gè)讓人猜不透的謎,在他的一系列小說中均體現(xiàn)出對于東方教宗文化的關(guān)注。通過生平經(jīng)歷和傳記研究發(fā)現(xiàn),塞林格本人以及文學(xué)創(chuàng)作直接或間接地受到了佛教和禪宗文化的影響。從文本入手可以看出,無論是從形象塑造還是文化滲透方面,塞林格小說都顯示出一種矛盾性與內(nèi)在張力。他絕非追求單一的東方或西方宗教文化,而是一種跨越不同宗教不同文化的人文關(guān)懷,東西方文化思想在他的作品中時(shí)而融合,又時(shí)而斗爭。塞林格對東方宗教文化,并非全盤接受和繼承,后期的創(chuàng)作危機(jī)更加凸顯其內(nèi)在思想的矛盾性,這種隔閡與矛盾恰恰與其大部分作品的結(jié)局相契合。從塞林格小說的形象塑造和矛盾性挖掘他對東方宗教文化批判性的繼承,以一種價(jià)值評判去看待其作品中的東方宗教影響,能更透徹地理解塞林格和他的作品主題。 分析塞林格的人生經(jīng)歷和小說文本,其個(gè)人以及主人公的成長都隱含了他對戰(zhàn)后時(shí)代變遷過程中社會和人的“自我”變化的憂慮。為了解救西方人的精神危機(jī)、實(shí)現(xiàn)自我救贖,他選擇了東方宗教文化資源,并期望這一思想不僅能拯救現(xiàn)代人的心靈,更能通過拯救心靈來挽救整個(gè)日益論喪的社會,以此達(dá)到自然與人類的和諧。但在當(dāng)時(shí)的時(shí)代氛圍下,這種闡釋依然是以西方為中心,小說中蘊(yùn)含中國元素的人物形象也帶有其主觀的東方想象。作品所反映的身份認(rèn)同危機(jī)和矛盾性說明,最終作家不會把東方文化作為安身立命的依據(jù)。 塞林格試圖通過吸收東方宗教文化來解救西方的精神危機(jī),也許最后的結(jié)果并不成功,但這絕非徒勞,對于現(xiàn)當(dāng)代社會中精神苦悶的蕓蕓眾生,依然具有深遠(yuǎn)的啟示意義。這位逃避世俗生活的“文壇隱士”給后人留下了太多待解的謎團(tuán),其作品更對美國后世小說的發(fā)展產(chǎn)生了深遠(yuǎn)的影響。
[Abstract]:Jerome David Salinger is an inscrutable riddle, reflecting his concern for the Eastern papal culture in his series of novels.Through life experience and biographical research, Salinger himself and literary creation are directly or indirectly influenced by Buddhism and Zen culture.It can be seen from the text that Salinger's novels show a contradiction and internal tension in terms of image shaping and cultural infiltration.He did not pursue a single Eastern or Western religious culture, but a kind of humanistic concern that transcended different religions and different cultures. In his works, the cultural thoughts of the East and the West were sometimes merged and fought.Salinger did not accept and inherit the oriental religious culture completely. The later creation crisis highlighted the contradiction of his inner thought. This estrangement and contradiction coincided with the end of most of his works.From the perspective of the image shaping and contradiction of Salinger's novels, he inherits the criticism of oriental religious culture and views the influence of oriental religion in his works by a kind of value judgment, so that he can understand Salinger and the theme of his works more thoroughly.The analysis of Salinger's life experience and novel texts shows that his personal and protagonist's growth implies his anxiety about the change of society and man's "ego" in the course of the change of postwar era.In order to save the western spiritual crisis and realize self-salvation, he chose the oriental religious and cultural resources, and hoped that this thought could not only save the soul of modern people, but also save the whole society, which is becoming more and more mournful by saving the soul.In order to achieve harmony between nature and human beings.However, in the atmosphere of the times, this interpretation is still centered on the West, and the characters with Chinese elements in the novels also have their subjective eastern imagination.The identity crisis and contradiction reflected in the works show that the writer will not regard oriental culture as the basis of his life.Salinger tried to save the western spiritual crisis by absorbing the eastern religious culture. The final result may not be successful, but this is not in vain, and still has profound enlightenment to the depressed masses in the modern society.This literary hermit, who escapes from secular life, left too many puzzles for future generations, and his works had a profound influence on the development of American novels.
