【摘要】:戲劇在世界文學和藝術史上占有重要地位。各國對戲劇翻譯的研究也持續(xù)了近幾個世紀。然而,有關戲劇翻譯的研究較為有限。有關戲劇翻譯理論的評述不多,對戲劇翻譯理論的系統(tǒng)研究則更少。英若誠,一名卓越和富有經(jīng)驗的演員,導演和翻譯家,為中西戲劇文化的交流做出了重大貢獻。1999年,中國對外翻譯出版公司出版了英若誠的八部英漢對照翻譯劇本,并附有其撰寫的序言。英若誠的戲劇翻譯實踐經(jīng)驗及觀點主要濃縮在其序言中。對這八部作品進行翻譯的主要目的在于實現(xiàn)這八戲劇作品的舞臺可表演性效果。目前,有關英若誠戲劇翻譯觀的研究不多,對其八部翻譯作品的分析也不多。本文通過大量閱讀相關書籍及文獻資料,對《英若誠名劇譯叢》的序言及其八部作品進行了分析,旨在從中歸納出英若誠的戲劇翻譯觀,從而對英若誠的戲劇翻譯觀進行相對系統(tǒng)的研究。本文主要采用文獻研究,歸納研究和分析研究的方法從以下四個方面探究英若誠的戲劇翻譯觀:首先,本文對中西戲劇翻譯及英若誠戲劇翻譯觀的研究進行綜述;然后對英若誠的戲劇翻譯觀進行歸納和梳理,分別從戲劇翻譯目的,戲劇翻譯原則,戲劇翻譯策略和戲劇翻譯方法四個方面來概述英若誠的戲劇翻譯觀。同時,通過分析《英若誠名劇譯叢》中的翻譯實例論證英若誠戲劇翻譯觀在其翻譯實踐中的體現(xiàn);之后,探討英若誠戲劇翻譯觀形成的理論基礎及主要原因,發(fā)現(xiàn)以下三個方面對英若誠的戲劇翻譯觀的形成產生了較大影響:第一,戲劇及戲劇翻譯本身的特點是形成英若誠戲劇翻譯觀的基礎和前提;第二,現(xiàn)存的戲劇翻譯觀為其戲劇翻譯觀的形成奠定了一定的理論基礎;第三,英若誠自身的人生經(jīng)歷,包括其所在的社會背景,個人的教育經(jīng)歷及工作經(jīng)歷都促使并影響了其戲劇翻譯觀的形成;最后總結英若誠戲劇翻譯觀對戲劇翻譯理論和戲劇翻譯實踐的貢獻。通過綜上研究,本文發(fā)現(xiàn)英若誠高度重視戲劇翻譯的“可表演性”,其八部作品都是為舞臺表演而譯。
