《活著》是我國(guó)當(dāng)代作家余華的代表作之一,這部作品以雙敘述視角的模式講述了建國(guó)前后在國(guó)家經(jīng)歷了巨大變遷的大背景下福貴老人的一生。小說(shuō)的語(yǔ)言樸實(shí)無(wú)華,但卻在簡(jiǎn)單的語(yǔ)言中給予讀者心靈上的震撼。此外,小說(shuō)的背景是新中國(guó)時(shí)期的農(nóng)村,語(yǔ)言的特點(diǎn)也非常符合人物形象。其英譯本由美國(guó)加州大學(xué)教授白睿文完成。此研究旨在,通過(guò)運(yùn)用文學(xué)文體學(xué)對(duì)《活著》的英譯本進(jìn)行批評(píng),進(jìn)而闡釋其指導(dǎo)下的分析模式和方法對(duì)文學(xué)翻譯的指導(dǎo)價(jià)值。論文采用細(xì)讀法對(duì)文中前景化的文體特征進(jìn)行了定性,通過(guò)比較法對(duì)原文和譯文的表述和審美效果進(jìn)行了對(duì)比,進(jìn)而對(duì)原文和譯文的審美價(jià)值進(jìn)行比較評(píng)估。研究表明,白睿文的《活著》英譯本在很大程度上忠實(shí)于原文的內(nèi)容,實(shí)現(xiàn)了與原文相似的審美價(jià)值,恰到好處地向目標(biāo)讀者介紹了此部深入人心的作品,但也有審美缺失和誤譯的現(xiàn)象存在。具體的實(shí)例研究證明,文學(xué)文體學(xué)對(duì)文學(xué)作品分析以及文學(xué)翻譯批評(píng)有著實(shí)用且具體的指導(dǎo)意義。
