《儒林外史》是一部反映士人生活的長篇章回體小說,其就古代科舉考試及士人仕途命運(yùn)做出了深刻而別樹一幟的描寫。并且,生動地刻畫了當(dāng)時社會人物的角色地位、飲食服裝、言談舉止等方方面面。后來,學(xué)者們紛紛以原著的諷刺效果、言語幽默、風(fēng)俗文化等作為研究的切入點(diǎn),從多個角度對《儒林外史》進(jìn)行解讀剖析。在楊憲益夫婦將其英譯之后,學(xué)者們也從翻譯策略、文化詞翻譯、隱喻翻譯等視角對英譯本《儒林外史》進(jìn)行研究,但迄今還沒有從翻譯美學(xué)的角度對《儒林外史》英譯本進(jìn)行研究的專著和研究。本論文中,作者將主要以劉宓慶的現(xiàn)代翻譯美學(xué)理論為指導(dǎo),在閱讀翻譯美學(xué)相關(guān)著作和研究文獻(xiàn)的基礎(chǔ)上,結(jié)合楊憲益夫婦的譯作《儒林外史》,對譯文的形式系統(tǒng)與非形式系統(tǒng)做出描述性分析,并探討楊憲益夫婦如何再現(xiàn)語言美及藝術(shù)風(fēng)格美。就譯文的形式系統(tǒng)而言,作者從譯文的語音層、詞語層和句段層三方面,以修辭格為載體,舉例分析審美主體楊憲益夫婦如何再現(xiàn)譯文的美學(xué)效果；就譯文的非形式系統(tǒng)而言,作者將從譯文的情與志、意與象以及意境做出闡釋,舉例分析譯者在再現(xiàn)小說的諷刺風(fēng)格、人物特征、文化意蘊(yùn)等方面做出的努力。本研究發(fā)現(xiàn),譯者在忠實(shí)于原文的基礎(chǔ)上,運(yùn)用其深厚的中...
