《茶館》是著名戲劇家老舍先生的代表作,自1957年問(wèn)世以來(lái),多次在國(guó)內(nèi)外演出,引起很大影響。目前比較通用的《茶館》英譯本有兩個(gè),一個(gè)是由著名翻譯家和表演藝術(shù)家英若誠(chéng)先生翻譯的譯本,并在西方演出取得了巨大成功;另一個(gè)版本是由加拿大翻譯家霍華先生翻譯的譯本,于1980年由外文出版社出版�！恫桊^》英譯在西方國(guó)家取得成功為中國(guó)文學(xué)作品的對(duì)外輸出提供了一個(gè)很有參考價(jià)值的示例。但迄今為止,對(duì)于《茶館》的英譯研究仍然較少且大多局限在語(yǔ)言層面研究,很少有學(xué)者研究政治,經(jīng)濟(jì),意識(shí)形態(tài)等文本外因素對(duì)翻譯的影響。多元系統(tǒng)理論認(rèn)為各種社會(huì)符號(hào)現(xiàn)象應(yīng)視為系統(tǒng)而非互不相關(guān)的元素。任何一個(gè)多元系統(tǒng)都是一個(gè)較大的多元系統(tǒng)的組成部分。這個(gè)大的系統(tǒng)包括政治、經(jīng)濟(jì)、文化等因素。多元系統(tǒng)理論把翻譯引上了文化研究的道路,為翻譯研究開辟了一個(gè)全新的的研究視角,把翻譯置于廣闊的文化背景進(jìn)行考察,推動(dòng)了翻譯的文化轉(zhuǎn)向。本文以《茶館》英若誠(chéng)先生譯本和霍華先生譯本為研究對(duì)象,從多元系統(tǒng)理論視角出發(fā),通過(guò)對(duì)兩個(gè)譯本進(jìn)行對(duì)比研究,嘗試把譯者的翻譯活動(dòng)置于當(dāng)時(shí)的文化系統(tǒng)和社會(huì)語(yǔ)境中進(jìn)行考察,比較兩位譯者在文本選擇、翻譯策略、翻譯方法上的不同之...
