許淵沖英譯《西廂記》中陌生化效果的再現(xiàn)

【摘要】:文學作為一種文字藝術,其終極目標是刷新我們在生活中下意識忽略掉的感官。作家們通過陌生化手法處理語言,將日常忽略之物用新奇的語言和讀者不熟悉的表達方式呈現(xiàn)在讀者面前,延長讀者感知所言之物的時間,從而刷新感官,使之獲得藝術的享受。陌生化在是保持作品文學性的重要手段。文學翻譯作為翻譯的特殊流派,要求譯者具備更多的文學意識。因此,再現(xiàn)文學作品原有的陌生化效果,以及發(fā)揮譯者主體性,用陌生化的手段處理譯本使之更具有文學性,是譯者不可推卸的責任。王實甫的《西廂記》是中國傳統(tǒng)戲劇曲作中刊刻最多,最廣為人知,最具影響力的作品,被稱為“天地妙文”,位列我國四大元曲之首。許淵沖所譯的《西廂記》自出版以來受到海內(nèi)外讀者及譯家的廣泛好評。在許譯版里,譯者首先在文體格式上采用了韻譯而非散文式翻譯;其次譯者用等同的或起到類似效果的修辭手法,保留及再現(xiàn)了原著語言中義、音、形三方面的陌生化效果,使得譯本在英語文學世界中也不失為一部優(yōu)秀的文學作品。本文通過舉例分析并反思許淵沖在《西廂記》的翻譯過程中,面對義、音、形三個維度不同的陌生化語言效果而采取的不同策略,指出“陌生化”效果通常由修辭手法實現(xiàn),而在譯文中將其有效再現(xiàn),保留作品的文學性,需要譯者具備更多的文學意識,發(fā)揮譯者主體性,最大程度地發(fā)揮源語和譯入語兩種語言的優(yōu)勢。
[Abstract]:As a literary art, the ultimate goal of literature is to refresh the senses that we have neglected subconsciously in our life. Writers deal with language through defamiliarization, presenting the everyday neglect with novel language and unfamiliar expressions to the reader, thus prolonging the reader's perception of what he says, thereby refreshing his senses. Give it the enjoyment of art. Strangeness is an important means to keep the literary quality of the works. As a special school of translation, literary translation requires translators to have more literary consciousness. Therefore, it is the translator's unshirkable responsibility to reproduce the original defamiliarization effect of literary works, and to give full play to the translator's subjectivity, and to deal with the translation by means of defamiliarization to make it more literariness. Wang Shifu's "Western Chamber" is one of the most famous and influential works in Chinese traditional drama. Xu Yuanchong's translation of the Western Chamber has been well received by readers and translators at home and abroad since its publication. In Xu's version, the translator first adopts rhyme translation rather than prose translation in stylistic form; secondly, the translator preserves and reproduces the unfamiliarization effects of meaning, sound and form in the original language by using rhetorical devices of equivalent or similar effect. The translation is also an excellent literary work in the English literary world. This paper analyzes and reflects on the different strategies adopted by Xu Yuanchong in the process of translation of "Western Chamber", and points out that the effect of "defamiliarization" is usually realized by rhetorical devices. In order to effectively reproduce and preserve the literariness of the work, the translator should have more literary consciousness, give full play to the translator's subjectivity and maximize the advantages of the source language and the target language.
