【摘要】：上個世紀(jì)70年代以來,人們對隱喻本質(zhì)的認(rèn)識較之傳統(tǒng)的隱喻觀已發(fā)生巨大的變化。傳統(tǒng)隱喻理論將隱喻視為一種用于修飾話語的修辭現(xiàn)象,其功能就是替代另一種語言表達(dá)。萊考夫和約翰遜卻在兩人合著的《我們賴以生存的隱喻》中指出,隱喻的本質(zhì)就是將某一領(lǐng)域的經(jīng)驗用來說明或理解另一類領(lǐng)域的經(jīng)驗的一種認(rèn)知活動。隱喻研究從修辭到認(rèn)知的轉(zhuǎn)向也為隱喻的翻譯研究帶來諸多啟發(fā)。傳統(tǒng)的隱喻翻譯研究著眼于修辭,大多停留在語義、形式等語言層面的分析。但是認(rèn)知語言學(xué)認(rèn)為,語言符號是思維的載體,那么語言就是以認(rèn)知為前提。所以翻譯就是將原語言所表現(xiàn)的認(rèn)知方式用目的語傳遞到目的語文化中去的過程,由于人們的認(rèn)知方式受不同文化的影響,所以翻譯同樣也是傳播民族文化的過程。既然認(rèn)知也是隱喻形成的基礎(chǔ),那么避開認(rèn)知討論隱喻翻譯是不可取的。概念隱喻理論強(qiáng)調(diào)隱喻的認(rèn)知功能,彌補(bǔ)了傳統(tǒng)隱喻觀的不足,為隱喻翻譯研究開辟了新的路徑。本文主要運(yùn)用概念隱喻理論,從實體隱喻、空間隱喻、結(jié)構(gòu)隱喻三個角度重點研究莫言的中篇小說《紅高粱家族》中的隱喻表達(dá)。通過分析這些隱喻表達(dá)的認(rèn)知映射,對隱藏于隱喻表達(dá)之下的文化差異和作者的語言藝術(shù)進(jìn)行解讀,發(fā)現(xiàn)概念隱喻在文學(xué)作品中的意義和功能,即文學(xué)作品中的概念隱喻是如何塑造小說人物和表達(dá)其主題思想的。通過將原文本和葛浩文的英譯本進(jìn)行系統(tǒng)的對比研究,從認(rèn)知的角度呈現(xiàn)和闡釋譯者在多大程度上再現(xiàn)了原文本中概念隱喻的映射。通過展開較為詳盡的對比分析,本文最后總結(jié)出葛浩文先生對隱喻翻譯處理的一些方法,即直譯、意譯、交際翻譯、語義翻譯和省譯。這也證明了概念隱喻理論同樣能夠用于探討漢英之間隱喻的互譯現(xiàn)象。同時,作者也期望本文提煉出的隱喻處理方法能對今后具體隱喻翻譯策略的提出有所啟發(fā)。
[Abstract]:Since the 1970s, people's understanding of metaphorical essence has changed greatly compared with traditional metaphorical view. The traditional metaphorical theory regards metaphor as a rhetorical phenomenon used to modify utterance, and its function is to replace another language expression. Lakoff and Johnson, however, point out that the essence of metaphor is a cognitive activity in which experience in one field is used to explain or understand experience in another field. The shift of metaphor from rhetoric to cognition has also inspired the study of metaphor translation. Traditional metaphorical translation studies focus on rhetoric, mostly at the semantic, formal and other linguistic levels. However, cognitive linguistics holds that linguistic symbols are the carrier of thinking, so language is based on cognition. Therefore, translation is the process of transmitting the cognitive style of the original language into the target language culture. Because people's cognitive style is influenced by different cultures, translation is also a process of spreading national culture. Since cognition is also the basis of metaphor formation, it is not advisable to avoid cognitive discussion of metaphor translation. Conceptual metaphor theory emphasizes the cognitive function of metaphor, which makes up for the deficiency of traditional metaphorical view and opens up a new way for the study of metaphorical translation. Based on the theory of conceptual metaphor, this paper focuses on the metaphorical expression in Mo Yan's novella "Red Sorghum Family" from the perspectives of substantive metaphor, spatial metaphor and structural metaphor. By analyzing the cognitive mapping of these metaphorical expressions, the author interprets the cultural differences hidden under the metaphorical expressions and the author's language art, and finds out the significance and function of conceptual metaphor in literary works. That is how conceptual metaphors in literary works portray characters and express their themes. Through a systematic comparative study of the original text and the English version of the original text, this paper presents and interprets the extent to which the translator reproduces the mapping of conceptual metaphors in the original text from a cognitive perspective. Through detailed comparative analysis, this paper concludes some approaches to metaphor translation, namely literal translation, free translation, communicative translation, semantic translation and economizing translation. It also proves that conceptual metaphor theory can also be used to explore the phenomenon of metaphor translation between Chinese and English. At the same time, the author also hopes that the metaphorical methods extracted in this paper will enlighten the specific strategies of metaphor translation in the future.
