【摘要】：Mona Baker(1993)首先提出通過(guò)語(yǔ)料庫(kù)研究翻譯和口譯的概念和主張。當(dāng)時(shí),人們認(rèn)為語(yǔ)料庫(kù)語(yǔ)言學(xué)將給實(shí)證研究帶來(lái)新的方法論,而翻譯理論則會(huì)證實(shí)實(shí)際操作過(guò)程中提出的有關(guān)翻譯的一些假設(shè)。正如Baker(2000:246)指出的:“確定某譯者的某種特定翻譯選擇的是一種模式而非個(gè)別案例”。也就是說(shuō),只有通過(guò)觀察大量具有說(shuō)服力的語(yǔ)料才能做出有關(guān)某譯者的翻譯趨向或譯者風(fēng)格的結(jié)論。自Baker提出基于語(yǔ)料庫(kù)的方法研究翻譯這一主張后,許多學(xué)者繼承并創(chuàng)新性地發(fā)展了翻譯領(lǐng)域,取得了累累碩果。 自90年代語(yǔ)料庫(kù)研究的興起,并隨著語(yǔ)料庫(kù)翻譯學(xué)的發(fā)展以及語(yǔ)料庫(kù)的描寫性質(zhì)和作為定量研究的突出的客觀性,如今語(yǔ)料庫(kù)已被大量運(yùn)用到諸多翻譯研究中,如本文基于語(yǔ)料庫(kù)研究莎士比亞戲劇中話語(yǔ)標(biāo)記“well”的漢譯就是其中一個(gè)應(yīng)用。 本文嘗試從翻譯功能對(duì)等角度比較兩位譯莎大家——梁實(shí)秋和朱生豪在翻譯莎劇(本文選取了其中的23部)中作為話語(yǔ)標(biāo)記語(yǔ)的“well”的漢譯,企圖在比較兩譯者采用的翻譯策略的基礎(chǔ)上探究?jī)勺g者翻譯風(fēng)格的異同,并對(duì)其動(dòng)因做出合理的解釋。 基于細(xì)致的數(shù)據(jù)統(tǒng)計(jì)分析以及對(duì)兩譯本的針對(duì)性比較,本文得出了如下結(jié)論:整體來(lái)說(shuō),兩譯者在實(shí)現(xiàn)話語(yǔ)標(biāo)記語(yǔ)“well”與其譯文的功能對(duì)等方面存在很大的共性,兩譯者的總體翻譯策略和趨勢(shì)相似度比較高;但對(duì)于個(gè)別涉及比較具體的語(yǔ)用語(yǔ)境和文化環(huán)境時(shí),尤其是處理特定人際關(guān)系時(shí),兩譯者的翻譯策略呈現(xiàn)出較大的差異。盡管如此,兩譯本都在一定程度上再現(xiàn)了源語(yǔ)文本中“well”的功能,取得了不同的藝術(shù)效果。 最后,本文客觀地展望了語(yǔ)料庫(kù)翻譯學(xué)的未來(lái)發(fā)展前景。
[Abstract]:Mona Bakern (1993) first put forward the concept and proposition of studying translation and interpretation through corpus. At that time, it was believed that corpus linguistics would bring a new methodology to empirical research, while translation theory would confirm some of the translation hypotheses put forward in practice. As Bakern 2000: 246 points out, "it is a pattern rather than an individual case that determines a translator's particular translation choice." That is to say, only by observing a large amount of persuasive data can we draw a conclusion about a translator's translation trend or translator's style. Since Baker proposed a corpus-based approach to the study of translation, many scholars have inherited and innovatively developed the field of translation, and have achieved fruitful results. Since the rise of corpus research in the 1990s, and with the development of corpus translatology, the descriptive nature of corpus and the outstanding objectivity of quantitative research, the corpus has been widely used in many translation studies. For example, the study of the C-E translation of Shakespeare's discourse marker "well" based on corpus is one of the applications. From the perspective of functional equivalence of translation, this paper attempts to compare the translation of "well" between the two translators, Liang Shiqiu and Zhu Shenghao, as discourse markers in the translation of Shakespeare's plays (23 of which are selected in this paper). On the basis of comparing the translation strategies adopted by the two translators, this paper attempts to explore the similarities and differences between the two translators' translation styles, and to make a reasonable explanation of their motivations. Based on the detailed statistical analysis and the comparison of the two versions, this paper draws the following conclusions: on the whole, the two translators have great commonalities in achieving the functional equivalence between the utterance markers "well" and their translations. The overall translation strategies and trend similarity of the two translators are relatively high, but the translation strategies of the two translators are quite different when they relate to specific pragmatic and cultural contexts, especially when dealing with specific interpersonal relationships. Nevertheless, to some extent, both versions reproduce the function of "well" in the source language and achieve different artistic effects. Finally, this paper objectively looks forward to the future development of corpus translation.
