【摘要】：尤金.奈達指出翻譯的本質(zhì)是兩種語言的交流,他的功能對等理論要求翻譯一定要將意義對等放在第一位,但也不能忽略語言的形式在翻譯過程中的重要性。功能對等理論指出譯文要通過合理的策略和方法達到最貼切自然的對等,讓譯文讀者產(chǎn)生于原文讀者相同或類似的反應。 《西游記》作為中國古典四大名著之一在世界上享有盛譽。其文中大量諺語的運用不僅加強了表達效果,也更好地提升了作品的文學價值。 本文在功能對等理論指導下,主要討論《西游記》中諺語的翻譯。在從語言和文化兩個角度仔細分析了漢語諺語的特點的基礎(chǔ)上,運用奈達對等的理論分析了譯文(詹那爾譯本)和原文中諺語形、意對等情況以及翻譯的策略和方法的運用。最后得出結(jié)論；異化是譯者翻譯諺語所采用的主要策略。異化可以在意義對等的基礎(chǔ)上最大程度的保留原語的語言和文化特色。事實上,純粹的異化翻譯又會造成意義翻譯的錯誤。而歸化策略的運用可以更好彌補異化的缺點。因此在翻譯諺語是,應采用異化和歸化相結(jié)合,異化第一歸化第二的翻譯策略,并在該翻譯策略的指導下選用相應合適的翻譯方法完成諺語的翻譯。
