從翻譯適應(yīng)選擇論看沙譯《水滸傳》綽號的翻譯

【摘要】：《水滸傳》講述了以宋江為首的108名梁山好漢起義的故事。書中,每個英雄人物都有響當(dāng)當(dāng)?shù)木b號,這些綽號雖然寥寥數(shù)字,但寓意豐富,增加了翻譯的難度,同時(shí)也增加了綽號翻譯研究的意義。 近年來,翻譯理論的研究極盡繁榮。在中國譯界,雖然翻譯類文章眾多,但卻沒有系統(tǒng)的純理論研究。鑒于此,清華大學(xué)胡庚申教授在全球生態(tài)文化學(xué)術(shù)思潮的影響下,將達(dá)爾文進(jìn)化論中關(guān)于自然選擇/適者生存的學(xué)說運(yùn)用到翻譯研究中,于2004年提出了關(guān)于譯者為中心,譯者適應(yīng)和選擇的翻譯理論——翻譯適應(yīng)選擇論。 本研究以翻譯適應(yīng)選擇論來解釋沙譯《水滸傳》中綽號的翻譯。文章先對本研究的背景及研究的原因作具體介紹；然后對《水滸傳》及其英譯本、綽號、翻譯適應(yīng)選擇論的相關(guān)研究作了綜述,再從譯者中心、翻譯過程、翻譯原則、翻譯方法、譯評標(biāo)準(zhǔn)幾個方面系統(tǒng)地介紹了翻譯適應(yīng)選擇論；其后,文章重點(diǎn)用翻譯適應(yīng)選擇論來解釋沙博理所譯《水滸傳》中綽號的翻譯：筆者先分析以《水滸傳》為典型要件的翻譯生態(tài)環(huán)境選擇沙博理的原因,然后將沙博理在翻譯中的適應(yīng)和選擇分為四類：語言維度的適應(yīng)選擇,文化維度的適應(yīng)選擇,交際維度的適應(yīng)選擇,和其他類,并結(jié)合實(shí)例分析沙博理在這四類適應(yīng)和選擇中如何適應(yīng)翻譯生態(tài)環(huán)境并選擇譯文。最后用翻譯適應(yīng)選擇論譯評標(biāo)準(zhǔn)中的三個參考指標(biāo)來分析沙博理所譯《水滸傳》中綽號翻譯的整合適應(yīng)選擇度。通過研究,筆者論證了翻譯適應(yīng)選擇論對綽號翻譯的解釋力度,以及譯者中心和三維轉(zhuǎn)換的翻譯方法的可行性,擴(kuò)大了該論的效度。
[Abstract]:The Water margin tells the story of 108 Liangshan heroes who were led by Song River. In the book, every hero has his or her own nicknames, which, though few numbers, have rich connotations, making translation more difficult and increasing the significance of the study of translation of nicknames. In recent years, the study of translation theory has flourished. In the field of translation in China, although there are many articles in translation, there is no systematic pure theory study. In view of this, Professor Hu Gengshen of Tsinghua University applied the Darwinian theory of natural selection / survival of the fittest to translation studies under the influence of the global ecological culture academic trend. In 2004, Professor Hu Gengshen put forward the translator as the center. The Theory of Translation adaptation and Choice of translators. The present study uses the theory of translation adaptation choice to explain the translation of nicknames in Sha's Translation of Water margin. Firstly, the background of this study and the reasons for the study are introduced in detail. Then it summarizes the relevant studies of the Water margin and its English versions, nicknames, and the theory of adaptation to translation, and then focuses on the translator's center, the translation process, the translation principles and the translation methods. This paper systematically introduces the adaptation selection theory of translation in several aspects of the criteria of translation evaluation. After that, the thesis mainly uses the theory of translation adaptation choice to explain the translation of nicknames in Sidney Shapiro's Translation of Water margin: the author first analyzes the reasons why the translation ecological environment with "Water margin" as the typical element of the translation environment chooses Sidney Shapiro. Then, Sidney Shapiro's adaptation and choice in translation is divided into four categories: adaptation of linguistic dimension, adaptation of cultural dimension, adaptation of communicative dimension, and other categories. It also analyzes how Sidney Shapiro adapts to the translation ecological environment and chooses the translation in the four types of adaptation and selection. Finally, the paper analyzes the degree of integration adaptation of nickname translation in Sidney Shapiro's Translation of Water margin by using three reference indicators in the criteria of translation adaptation selection. Through this study, the author demonstrates the translation adaptation theory's interpretation of nickname translation, as well as the feasibility of the translator centered and three-dimensional translation methods, which expands the validity of the theory.
