【摘要】： 本文以托馬斯·哈代的作品《苔絲》為載體，研究以-able／ible結(jié)尾的形容詞的翻譯。以-able／ible結(jié)尾的形容詞在英語(yǔ)中是一類特殊的形容詞，該詞綴最早由拉丁詞綴演化而來(lái)，可用來(lái)生成新詞，且大多數(shù)有被動(dòng)含義。 本文旨在通過(guò)《苔絲》原作中以-able/ible結(jié)尾形容詞的漢譯，研究具有被動(dòng)含義的-able／ible形容詞在漢語(yǔ)言文化土壤中是如何處理的。 在國(guó)內(nèi)，很多學(xué)者和譯者從不同角度闡釋和評(píng)論《苔絲》，有些文章對(duì)原著進(jìn)行剖析，如孫貽紅的《獻(xiàn)給圣杯追尋者的挽歌——簡(jiǎn)析德伯家的苔絲中的人生悲劇》，潘紅麗的《苔絲：傳統(tǒng)與現(xiàn)代撞擊成的悲劇人物》等；也有一些作品從翻譯層面對(duì)譯作加以評(píng)論，如韓子滿的《試論方言對(duì)譯的的局限性——以張谷若先生譯德伯家的苔絲為例》。 本文從語(yǔ)言學(xué)角度出發(fā)，研究《苔絲》中以-able／ible結(jié)尾的形容詞及其翻譯。在譯本選擇上，本研究采用著名翻譯家張谷若先生的譯作，也是迄今為止《苔絲》翻譯中最為廣泛認(rèn)可，聲譽(yù)最高的一部作品。本研究將加深對(duì)-able／ible形容詞的理解，，同時(shí)也有助于我們對(duì)語(yǔ)言本身及各語(yǔ)言差異的理解。 本文研究方法是搜集語(yǔ)料并分類。共有五個(gè)章節(jié)：第一章從詞源角度及其他方面解釋-able/ible形容詞，并引出本文研究對(duì)象《苔絲》，對(duì)譯者也做了一些介紹。數(shù)據(jù)分類方法和依據(jù)等也在此章一并展示。第二、三章具體到語(yǔ)料分類和分析，第二章剖析有被動(dòng)含義的-able/ible形容詞的翻譯，第三章分析無(wú)被動(dòng)含義的-able／ible形容詞的翻譯。第四章為總結(jié)性評(píng)述，涉及到英漢兩種語(yǔ)言差異及翻譯中靈活采用的翻譯策略。第五章為本文結(jié)尾部分。
[Abstract]:Based on Thomas Hardy's work Tess, this paper studies the translation of adjectives that end with -able / ible. Adjectives ending in -ableable are a special class of adjectives in English. The affixes are originally derived from Latin affixes and can be used to generate new words, most of which have passive meanings. The purpose of this paper is to study the treatment of the adjectives with passive meanings in the Chinese language and culture through the translation of the adjectives ending with -able / ible in the original "Tess". In China, many scholars and translators interpret and comment on Tess from different angles, and some articles analyze the original works. For example, Sun Yihong's Elegy to the Grail seeker: a brief Analysis of the tragedy in Tess of the Deborgs, Pan Hongli's Tess: tragic characters collided with tradition and modernity, etc. There are also some works that comment on translation from the perspective of translation. For example, Han Ziman's limitations on dialect Translation: taking Mr. Zhang Gurou as an example to translate Tess of the Decaux. From a linguistic point of view, this paper studies the adjectives that end in -able / ible and their translation in Tess. In the choice of translation, this study adopts the translation of famous translator Zhang Gurou, which is also the most widely recognized and highly reputable work in Tess translation so far. This study will deepen our understanding of the adjective-able / ible and help us to understand the language itself and its differences. The research method of this paper is to collect and classify the corpus. There are five chapters: the first chapter explains the adjective from etymological point of view and other aspects, and leads to the object of this study, Tess, and gives some introduction to the translator. Data classification methods and basis are also shown in this chapter. The second and third chapters are about the classification and analysis of the corpus. The second chapter is about the translation of the adjectives with passive meanings and the third chapter is about the translation of the adjectives without passive meanings. Chapter four is a summary of the differences between English and Chinese and the flexible translation strategies used in translation. Chapter five is the last part of this paper.
