古詩英譯的譯者識解視角研究

【摘要】:中國古詩英譯一直被認(rèn)為是翻譯領(lǐng)域中最復(fù)雜的工作。不少譯者投身于古詩的翻譯中,然而許多翻譯家都認(rèn)為詩歌不可譯。其主要原因在于:文體特殊、形式特別、意象難以傳遞等給譯者造成重重困難。本研究旨在運(yùn)用蘭蓋克的識解視角理論剖析詩歌翻譯的相關(guān)問題,并通過對詩歌翻譯中譯者識解視角的研究為日后詩歌翻譯提供一些翻譯原則。 蘭蓋克的識解論認(rèn)為語言的意義一方面來自文本、語音、句法等所形成的意義的客觀方面,另一方面與人們的主觀識解方式有關(guān)。其中,視角是識解機(jī)制之一,它表示識解者與被識解事件間的相互關(guān)系,即人們對事件進(jìn)行描述時所持有的特定角度,反映譯者的心理距離、情感傾向。此外,識解視角與認(rèn)知域有著緊密的聯(lián)系。 論文首先,將識解理論的視角維度運(yùn)用于古歌翻譯中。譯者的識解視角可表現(xiàn)為:視點(diǎn)、指示語、移情、主"客觀性以及圖像—背景格局五個方面。正是由于譯者在古詩英譯中可以在不同的視點(diǎn)、指示語、移情程度、主觀性或者客觀性中作出選擇,亦或是對同一場景中不同圖形的選擇,必然都產(chǎn)生不同的譯文。然后,通過譯者的識解視角差異帶來的不同譯文的比較,得出較易被認(rèn)可的翻譯。從而總結(jié)出一些古詩英譯的翻譯原則,即識解視角一致。換言之,較好的譯文是那些譯者翻譯時在時空關(guān)系以及非時空關(guān)系上定位一致的譯文。最后,在識解視角論指導(dǎo)下,譯者在中國古詩英譯中應(yīng)盡可能的實(shí)現(xiàn)原文與譯文間、譯文文本內(nèi)的識解視角一致。由于研究發(fā)現(xiàn)揭示譯者識解視角的五個元素與各認(rèn)知域之間存在對應(yīng)關(guān)系。即視點(diǎn)對應(yīng)空間域;指示語對應(yīng)人稱、時間域;移情對應(yīng)情感域;主"客觀性對應(yīng)人稱域;圖形——背景對應(yīng)抽象概念域,,因此該理論指導(dǎo)下,譯者應(yīng)盡量實(shí)現(xiàn)譯作與原作間各元素在其對應(yīng)認(rèn)知域的識解視角一致。同時,研究發(fā)現(xiàn)識解視角的各元素是相互兼容的,所以譯者還應(yīng)盡量的實(shí)現(xiàn)文本內(nèi)元素間的識解視角一致。
[Abstract]:The translation of ancient Chinese poetry into English has always been regarded as the most complicated task in the field of translation. Many translators devote themselves to the translation of ancient poetry, but many translators believe that poetry is untranslatable. The main reasons are the special style, the special form and the difficulty of image transmission. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relevant problems in poetry translation by using Langeke's theory of interpretation perspective, and to provide some translation principles for poetry translation in the future through the study of translator's interpretation perspective in poetry translation. Langecke's theory of interpretation holds that the meaning of language comes from the objective aspects of meaning formed by text, pronunciation and syntax, on the other hand, it is related to the way of people's subjective interpretation. Angle of view is one of the mechanisms of interpretation, which expresses the relationship between the construal and the interpreted event, that is, the specific angle that people hold when describing the event, which reflects the psychological distance and emotional tendency of the translator. In addition, there is a close relationship between cognitive domain and cognitive perspective. Firstly, the perspective of interpretation theory is applied to the translation of ancient songs. The translator's interpretation perspective can be shown in five aspects: viewpoint, deixis, empathy, subjective objectivity and image-background pattern. It is precisely because the translator can choose between different viewpoints, deixis, empathy, subjectivity or objectivity, or the choice of different figures in the same scene, it is necessary to produce different translations. Then, through the comparison of different translations from the perspective of translator's interpretation, a more approachable translation is obtained. Therefore, the translation principles of some ancient poems in English translation are summed up, that is, the same angle of view of interpretation. In other words, better translations are those that are consistent in temporal and spatial relations as well as in non-spatiotemporal relations. Finally, under the guidance of the theory of interpretation perspective, the translator should try his best to achieve the same perspective between the original text and the target text in the translation of ancient Chinese poetry. The findings reveal that the five elements of the translator's cognitive perspective correspond to each cognitive domain. That is, viewpoint corresponds to spatial domain, deixis corresponds to person, time domain, empathy corresponds to emotional domain, subjective "objective" corresponds to personal domain, graph-background corresponds to abstract concept field, so under the guidance of this theory, The translator should try his best to achieve a consistent understanding of the elements in the corresponding cognitive domain between the translation and the original. At the same time, it is found that the elements of interpretation perspective are compatible with each other, so the translator should try his best to achieve consistency between the elements in the text.
