從《傲慢與偏見》兩種譯本看譯者主體性的發(fā)揮

【摘要】: 譯者是翻譯活動(dòng)中最活躍的主體因素。然而,在傳統(tǒng)的文本中心翻譯理論的影響下,為了忠實(shí)的傳達(dá)作者的意圖,譯者不得不盡可能地壓抑自己的主觀能動(dòng)性,努力成為作者及原作忠實(shí)的“仆人”。20世紀(jì)70年代,西方出現(xiàn)了翻譯研究的“文化轉(zhuǎn)向”,產(chǎn)生了許多以目的語文化為研究重點(diǎn)的翻譯理論,包括目的論,多元系統(tǒng)論和“操縱學(xué)派”理論。他們注意到譯者在翻譯中的創(chuàng)造性地位以及譯者主體性的重要性,也為描述和解釋譯者主體性提供了大量的理論支持。 譯者主體性貫穿于翻譯活動(dòng)的全過程,不僅體現(xiàn)在譯者對作品的理解、闡釋和語言層面上的藝術(shù)再創(chuàng)造,也體現(xiàn)在對翻譯文本的選擇、翻譯的文化目的、翻譯策略等方面。譯者主體性是指在尊重客觀翻譯環(huán)境的前提下,在充分認(rèn)識和理解譯入語文化需求的基礎(chǔ)上,作為翻譯主體的譯者在整個(gè)翻譯活動(dòng)中所表現(xiàn)出來的主觀能動(dòng)性,具有目的性、受動(dòng)性、創(chuàng)造性等特點(diǎn)。 《傲慢與偏見》是英國小說家簡·奧斯汀的第一部小說,也是最引人入勝的一部作品。在出版的多個(gè)漢譯本中,王科一先生的譯本和孫致禮先生的譯本為廣大讀者所喜愛,兩種譯本各有特色。王科一譯本灑脫、簡潔、自由、流暢、地道、文采十足;孫致禮譯本忠實(shí)、通順、精確,異化色彩濃厚,具有濃郁的“異國情調(diào)”。對同一個(gè)文學(xué)文本,不同的譯者往往有不同的翻譯,造成這種現(xiàn)象最主要的還是主觀的因素——譯者的原因。 在特定的社會(huì)文化、歷史背景下,王科一、孫致禮在生活經(jīng)歷、個(gè)人能力、翻譯動(dòng)機(jī)和翻譯思想等方面都存在著差異。這些譯者主體性因素客觀存在,并對他們的譯作產(chǎn)生了不容忽視的影響。在兩種譯本中,譯者主體性具體表現(xiàn)在三個(gè)層面:一是語言的形式和結(jié)構(gòu)層面,包括對專有名詞、普通詞語和句子結(jié)構(gòu)的處理;二是風(fēng)格層面,包括敘事話語、對話和信件風(fēng)格的再現(xiàn);三是文化層面,包括宗教文化、政治文化和社會(huì)習(xí)俗文化的傳遞。 從《傲慢與偏見》兩個(gè)不同時(shí)期的漢譯本的選詞造句、風(fēng)格傳譯和文化傳遞三個(gè)方面的分析,可以看出譯本的差異和多樣化在很大程度上是由于譯者主體性的客觀存在對譯本的影響,譯者主體性在翻譯過程中具有重要作用。然而,這并不意味著譯者有絕對的自由,可以胡譯亂譯,它仍受到意識形態(tài)和原文等客觀因素的限制。
[Abstract]:Translator is the most active subject in translation activities. However, under the influence of the traditional text-centered translation theory, in order to convey the author's intention faithfully, the translator has to suppress his initiative as much as possible and strive to become the author and the faithful servant of the original work in the 1970s. In the West, there has been a "cultural turn" in translation studies, resulting in many translation theories focusing on Skopos language, including Skopos theory, polysystem theory and "manipulative school" theory. They pay attention to the creative position of the translator in translation and the importance of the translator's subjectivity. They also provide a lot of theoretical support for describing and explaining the translator's subjectivity. The subjectivity of the translator runs through the whole process of translation, not only in the translator's understanding of the work, interpretation and artistic re-creation at the linguistic level, but also in the choice of the translation text, the cultural purpose of translation, and the translation strategy. On the premise of respecting the objective translation environment and fully understanding the cultural needs of the target language, the translator's subjectivity means that the translator, as the subject of translation, has the subjective initiative and purpose in the whole translation activity. "Pride and Prejudice" is the first novel of British novelist Jane Austen and the most fascinating one. Among the published Chinese translations, the versions of Mr. Wang Keyi and Mr. Sun Zhili are popular among readers, and the two versions have their own characteristics. Wang Keyi's translation is free and easy, simple, free, fluent, authentic and literary; Sun Zhili's translation is faithful, smooth, accurate, and dissimilated, and has a strong "exotic atmosphere". For the same literary text, different translators often have different translations, which is mainly caused by subjective factors-the translator's reasons. Under the specific social culture and historical background, Wang Keyi and Sun Zhili are different in life experience, personal ability, translation motivation and translation thought. These subjective factors exist objectively and have a great influence on their translation. In the two versions, the translator's subjectivity is manifested at three levels: first, the form and structure of language, including the treatment of proper nouns, common words and sentence structures, and second, stylistic aspects, including narrative discourse. The third is the cultural aspect, including the transmission of religious culture, political culture and social custom culture. An analysis of the choice of words and sentences, style interpretation and cultural transmission of the Chinese translation of the two different periods of Pride and Prejudice. It can be seen that the difference and diversification of the translation is largely due to the influence of the translator's subjectivity on the translation, and the translator's subjectivity plays an important role in the translation process. However, this does not mean that the translator has the absolute freedom to translate indiscriminately. It is still restricted by the objective factors such as ideology and the original text.
