【摘要】： 語境是語言學中的一個重要概念,其對話語的生成和理解起著至關(guān)重要的作用。翻譯的整個過程,從理解到表達都離不開特定、具體的語境,如果忽略了語境,必然引起對原文的誤解、曲解,從而導致誤譯。語境對翻譯的重要性已獲得國內(nèi)外翻譯界的一致認同。 《林家鋪子》是茅盾先生最著名的短篇小說,其獨特的文學價值在中國文學史上占有重要地位。作者在有限的篇幅中創(chuàng)造了一個具體而形象的時代及其特定的語言環(huán)境,其中每一個人物的語言都符合當時的社會歷史大環(huán)境和個人歷史小環(huán)境。在翻譯這種具有時代和地方特色的作品時,譯者必須生動地再現(xiàn)一個有說服力和代表性的語言環(huán)境,才能把讀者帶入原作的思想和藝術(shù)境界。 本文將從語境理論出發(fā),運用實證法,對翻譯家沙博理的《林家鋪子》英譯本進行分析,旨在得出語境理論對翻譯實踐的意義并且對可操作性做嘗試性勾畫。同時,本文運用對等翻譯理論作為衡量翻譯優(yōu)劣的尺度,從而在一定程度上能夠較科學地對翻譯做出“得與失”的客觀評價。本文包括五部分。第一部分緒論,說明論文的研究目的、對象、意義,并廓清論文的框架結(jié)構(gòu)。第二部分介紹論文所涉及的理論,即對語境理論和對等理論進行較詳盡的闡述。第三部分對《林家鋪子》這一作品、作家以及譯者進行介紹。根據(jù)人類語言學家馬林諾夫斯基對語境的分類,即語言語境、情景語境和文化語境,第四部分將分別從這三大語境來探討《林家鋪子》譯文的譯者沙博理先生如何依靠語
[Abstract]:Context is an important concept in linguistics, which plays an important role in the generation and understanding of discourse. The whole process of translation, from understanding to expressing, is inseparable from the specific and concrete context. If the context is ignored, it will inevitably lead to misunderstanding and misinterpretation of the original text, thus leading to misinterpretation. The importance of context to translation has been unanimously recognized by translation circles both at home and abroad. Lin Jia Shu Zi is the most famous short story of Mr. Mao Dun, whose unique literary value plays an important role in the history of Chinese literature. In the limited space, the author creates a concrete and vivid era and its specific language environment, in which each character's language conforms to the social and historical environment and the personal historical environment. In order to bring readers into the realm of thought and art the translator must vividly reproduce a persuasive and representative language environment when translating such works with the characteristics of the times and places. Based on the context theory, this paper analyzes the English translation of Sidney Shapiro's Lin Jia Shop by using the empirical method, in order to obtain the meaning of context theory to the translation practice and to make a tentative sketch of the maneuverability. At the same time, this paper uses the theory of equivalent translation as the yardstick to measure the merits and demerits of translation, thus to a certain extent, it can make an objective evaluation of translation "gain and loss" in a more scientific way. This paper includes five parts. The first part is introduction, which explains the purpose, object and significance of the thesis, and clarifies the frame structure of the paper. The second part introduces the theory of context theory and equivalence theory. In the third part, author and translator are introduced. According to the classification of context by human linguist Ma Lin Novsky, that is, linguistic context, situational context and cultural context, the fourth part discusses how the translator, Mr. Sidney Shapiro, relies on language from these three contexts.
