中英文學(xué)語篇主位及主位推進(jìn)模式的對比研究

【摘要】: 本文以系統(tǒng)功能語言學(xué)家Halliday的主位理論以及朱永生提出的四種基本主位推進(jìn)模式作為理論框架,以海明威的《老人與!芳捌鋮莿诜g的中文譯本為語料進(jìn)行對比研究,旨在了解主位和主位推進(jìn)模式在中英文學(xué)語篇中的分布特點(diǎn)和選擇異同,并試圖探討造成這些相似和差異選擇的潛在原因。 主位和主位推進(jìn)模式與語篇體裁息息相關(guān),為保證研究結(jié)果的客觀準(zhǔn)確,本文只選用了小說最具代表性的敘事語篇作為語料進(jìn)行分析。通過統(tǒng)計數(shù)據(jù),歸納分析,總結(jié)出中英語篇中主位和主位推進(jìn)模式的選擇分布特點(diǎn)及其異同,并探討了造成其異同的相關(guān)潛在因素。 研究結(jié)果總結(jié)如下: 1.在中英小說的敘事語篇中,非標(biāo)記性主位都遠(yuǎn)多于標(biāo)記性主位,但標(biāo)記性主位在中文語篇中的出現(xiàn)頻率高于英文。兩個版本中,主位都多為有生命的人或動物充當(dāng),同時發(fā)現(xiàn),多重主位中的人際主位所占比例都微乎其微,基本不存在。就語篇主位而言,英文中的使用率遠(yuǎn)超過中文。盡管零主位在中英版本中都有使用,但在中文語篇中的出現(xiàn)頻率要高于英文。 2.主位推進(jìn)模式在中英小說敘事語篇中的選擇和分布都很接近。根據(jù)朱永生提出的四種基本模式,平行型使用率最高,緊接著是延續(xù)型,而集中型都少有使用。此外,小句之間不使用主位推進(jìn)模式,即“零模式”在中英語篇中都有出現(xiàn),但在中文中的使用頻率略高,而英文語篇中的交叉型比例高于中文。 3.主位及主位推進(jìn)模式在《老人與海》中英版本中選擇的相似性主要與語篇體裁,作者的寫作風(fēng)格以及對小說主人公性格特征的刻畫相關(guān)。有生命的人或動物充當(dāng)?shù)姆菢?biāo)記性主位的大量使用是為了告訴讀者主人公的遭遇,這也突顯了敘事語篇的特點(diǎn)及作者簡約質(zhì)樸的寫作風(fēng)格;平行型模式的采用有利于刻畫出老人鋼鐵般的意志和他內(nèi)心的孤獨(dú);延續(xù)型模式使小說情節(jié)得以進(jìn)展;而人際主位的較少使用同樣突出了海明威簡單自然的冰山風(fēng)格。 4.中英語篇在主位及主位推進(jìn)模式選擇和分布的差異主要受英文和中文各自語型特點(diǎn)的影響。英語屬于一種形合的語言,結(jié)構(gòu)嚴(yán)密,所以較多使用語篇主位使句子和段落完整;漢語則是一種意合的語言,結(jié)構(gòu)靈活,意思更依賴于語境,所以零主位和零模式出現(xiàn)頻率更高。就句式而言,英文句式多為由左向右擴(kuò)展,狀語從句和介詞短語多位于句末,而中文句式多為由右向左擴(kuò)展,狀語從句和介詞短語多位于句首,這些特點(diǎn)決定了中文語篇中的標(biāo)記性主位要多于英文語篇的現(xiàn)象。 本文的研究對提高英語教學(xué)也有實(shí)踐意義。主位及其主位推進(jìn)模式的相關(guān)知識為全面深刻地理解文學(xué)作品提供了新的視角,也能加深對中外文學(xué)作品的賞析。此外,這方面知識對外語教學(xué),特別對目標(biāo)語學(xué)習(xí)者的讀,寫,譯等各方面技能的提高也有借鑒意義。對語篇體裁、語型差異的認(rèn)識也有助于學(xué)習(xí)者克服負(fù)遷移,促進(jìn)正遷移,更好地提高跨文化交際的能力。
[Abstract]:This paper based on the thematic theory of systemic functional linguistics, Halliday and Zhu Yongsheng's four basic patterns of thematic progression as the theoretical framework, in "the old man and the sea by Hemingway and Wu Chinese translation versions as the corpus for comparative study, in order to understand the theme and thematic promotion model English distribution characteristics and the choice of language differences in the article, and attempts to explore the underlying causes of these similarities and differences in the choice.
Theme and thematic progression patterns and genre are closely related, in order to ensure the accurate results, this paper selects the narrative discourse of the most representative novels as the corpus analysis. By statistical analysis, inductive analysis, summed up in the English text and thematic promotion mode selection of distribution the similarities and differences, and to explore the underlying factors responsible for the differences.
The results of the study are summarized as follows:
In the 1. English novels in narrative discourse, unmarked themes are far more marked themes, but marked themes appear in the text of the Chinese frequency is higher than two. English version, themes for human or animal life. At the same time, have very little multiple the main position in the interpersonaltheme proportion, basically does not exist. The textual themes, the use of English rate in far more than Chinese. Although zero themes in Chinese and English versions are used, but in Chinese discourse is higher than that of the English.
2. patterns of thematic progression in English and Chinese narrative discourse in the selection and distribution are very close. Four patterns proposed by Zhu Yongsheng, in parallel with the highest utilization rate, followed by a continuous type and concentration are seldom used. In addition, between sentences without the use of thematic progression patterns, namely "zero mode" in Chinese and English discourse have appeared, but the frequency of use in Chinese in slightly higher, while the proportion of cross English in discourse is higher than that of Chinese.

Influence of English Discourse in 4. themes and thematic progression patterns and distribution differences mainly affected by the English and Chinese their language characteristics. English is a kind of network language, the structure is tight, so the use of more textual themes to make complete sentences and paragraphs; Chinese is a paratactic language. Flexible structure, meaning depends on the context, so zero themes and the zero pattern of higher frequency. English sentence, sentence from left to right, the adverbial and prepositional phrases in the sentence, and the sentence from left to right Chinese extension, adverbial and prepositional phrases in a sentence, these characteristics determines the Chinese discourse marked themes than English discourse phenomenon.
This study also has practical significance for improving English teaching. The thematic and thematic progression related knowledge for comprehensive understanding of literary works provides a new perspective, but also can deepen the appreciation of Chinese and foreign literary works. In addition, the knowledge of foreign language teaching, especially the learning of the target language reading and writing also, a reference translation skills. All aspects of genre, understanding language differences also help learners overcome the negative transfer, positive transfer, improve the ability of intercultural communication.
