【摘要】：夏濟安所翻譯的《名家散文選讀》上下兩冊收錄了從美國殖民時期至南北戰(zhàn)爭期間涌現(xiàn)的十一位重要作家的作品,這一時期美國文學還沒有擺脫模仿因襲的風氣。譯者認為正是美國人苦心研究別人的長處和自己可能的長處,建立了自信心,結(jié)合本國的人才和素材,最后才產(chǎn)生了受人尊敬的美國文學。而當時的中國新文學正處在學習期,這樣的學習和創(chuàng)作經(jīng)驗非常值得參考,因此從文學的角度而言,這兩本書中收錄的11位作家的15篇作品都值得賞讀。 細讀夏濟安的譯文,總有種想要脫離原文,一氣呵成讀完譯本的沖動念頭,總有一種獨特的東方文學韻味的美感暗含其中,其譯文清新雋逸,表達流暢自然,朗朗上口,生動傳神。無論從翻譯理論還是從翻譯實踐的角度,夏濟安的《名家散文選讀》都值得英語學習者和翻譯愛好者細讀研究。 夏濟安譯文第一時間給人一種美的感受激發(fā)了作者從美學的角度去展開對夏濟安譯作研究的沖動。夏濟安對英美文學有精湛的研究,用中英文發(fā)表的譯著甚多,他的作品和研究對臺灣當代文學的發(fā)展極具影響力,但國內(nèi)對其譯作的研究明顯不足,僅有二十來篇期刊論文和三篇碩士論文,并且研究角度有一定的局限性,因此向大陸學者介紹這位出生于四十年代后期又深受西方文化影響的知識分子的翻譯著作十分有意義。本文從美學的角度對其譯作進行深入研究,具有獨創(chuàng)性,有利于指導現(xiàn)代翻譯實踐。 本文對夏濟安和他的譯作《名家散文選讀》作了簡單的背景介紹,系統(tǒng)整理了國內(nèi)現(xiàn)有對夏濟安譯作研究的文獻資料,在翻譯研究和美學角度結(jié)合的基礎(chǔ)之上對夏濟安譯作進行了全面的分析。借鑒傅仲選先生在《實用翻譯美學》中提出的形式美和內(nèi)容美的理論分析結(jié)構(gòu),本文從語音層、詞匯層、句子層構(gòu)建的形式美和從所指意義、實用意義、言內(nèi)意義構(gòu)建的內(nèi)容美兩個方面出發(fā),結(jié)合夏濟安譯文中選取的五十多個特點鮮明的例子,對夏濟安譯作的獨特性和藝術(shù)性進行了展示和分析。 本文旨在展現(xiàn)《名家散文選讀》中十一位作家作品的美以及夏濟安譯文中美的再現(xiàn),希望譯學界有更多的人去關(guān)注夏濟安和他的譯文,給予漢譯散文翻譯研究更多的關(guān)注。
[Abstract]:The selected Essays of famous Writers translated by Xia Ji'an include the works of 11 important writers who emerged from the colonial period of the United States to the Civil War. In this period, American literature has not been rid of the atmosphere of imitation. The translator believes that it is the Americans who painstakingly study the strengths of others and their own possible strengths, build self-confidence, and combine their own talents and materials. It was only at the end of the day that the respected American literature came into being. At that time, the Chinese new literature was in a period of study. Such learning and creative experience is very valuable. Therefore, from a literary point of view, The 15 works of 11 writers in these two books are worth reading. There is always an impulse to read Xia Ji'an 's translation in one fell swoop. There is always a unique aesthetic feeling of oriental literature. The translation is fresh and elegant, fluent and natural, and has a long mouth. Whether from the perspective of translation theory or translation practice, Xia Ji'an 's "selected Reading of famous Chinese Prose" is worthy of study by English learners and translation enthusiasts. The aesthetic feeling of Xia Ji'an 's translation at the first time aroused the author's impulse to study the translation of Xia Ji'an from an aesthetic point of view. Xia Ji'an had a superb study of British and American literature and published a lot of translated works in both Chinese and English. His works and research have great influence on the development of contemporary literature in Taiwan, but the research on his translation in China is obviously insufficient. There are only about 20 periodical papers and three master's theses, and the research angle has certain limitations. Therefore, it is of great significance to introduce to mainland scholars the translation works of this intellectual, born in the late 1940s and deeply influenced by Western culture. It is helpful to guide modern translation practice. This paper gives a brief background introduction to Xia Ji'an and his translated works, selected Essays of famous Writers, and systematically arranges the existing literature on the translation of Xia Ji'an in China. On the basis of the combination of translation studies and aesthetics, this paper makes a comprehensive analysis of Xia Ji'an 's translation works. Based on the theoretical analysis structure of formal beauty and content beauty put forward by Fu Zhongxuan in practical Translation Aesthetics, this paper focuses on the phonological aspects. In terms of lexical level, sentence level, formality beauty and two aspects of meaning, practical meaning and content beauty of meaning construction, combined with more than 50 distinctive examples selected in Xia Ji'an 's translation, This paper presents and analyzes the uniqueness and artistry of Xia Ji'an 's translated works. The purpose of this paper is to show the beauty of the works of 11 writers and the reappearance of the beauty of Xia Ji'an 's translation, and hope that more people in the field of translation will pay more attention to Xia Ji'an and his translation, and pay more attention to the study of translation of prose into Chinese.
