【摘要】：“忠實”原則一度被視為判斷作品翻譯好壞的唯一標準。近年來,隨著西方翻譯研究理論的發(fā)展,文學翻譯已經不再局限于傳統(tǒng)的對等理論,而是將許多文本外的因素也一同納入研究范圍。這樣,文學翻譯的重要特征之一—文化誤譯,也隨之得到前所未有的重視和更加合理的解釋,而不是一味的否定。 在晚清特定的歷史文化背景下,對外國小說的譯介活動轟轟烈烈的展開了。林紓作為同時期文學翻譯家中的佼佼者,在廣受關注的同時也備受爭議。雖然其譯作在客觀上促進了文化的交流與傳播,但因其在內容與結構上對原文不夠忠實,仍然遭到了譯界的諸多質疑與批判。然而,文化誤譯作為翻譯中不可避免的現(xiàn)象,應該予以正確看待；并且文化誤譯對于翻譯研究與批評具有非比尋常的意義,譯界更應予以重視。因此,本文以“林譯小說”中的文化誤譯為研究對象,具體對其譯作中的文化誤譯現(xiàn)象進行分析和探討,進而歸納總結出其譯作中文化誤譯存在的原因及意義。 由于受到文化的差異,文本特征的局限性,譯者個人素質的不同以及贊助者的操縱等因素的影響,譯者無法做到完全忠實于原文。本文試圖從操縱論的視角,結合譯者在翻譯過程中主體性作用的發(fā)揮,并選取“林譯小說”中較有代表性的文化誤譯,初步探索造成林紓文化誤譯的原因及意義。作者發(fā)現(xiàn),林紓在其翻譯過程中,受到了晚清主流意識形態(tài),詩學以及贊助人等客觀因素的操縱；同時,身處內憂外患的晚清時期,林紓的翻譯目的旨在激發(fā)民眾的愛國熱忱,倡導政治改革,傳播西方先進科學技術；為達到此目的,林紓主要采取了省譯,擴增和改造的翻譯策略,這些也共同構成了林紓譯作中的文化誤譯。然而,這些文化誤譯非但沒有將林紓及其譯作埋沒,反而在客觀上對后世產生了巨大的影響。林紓在受到諸多主客觀因素操縱的同時,也影響了當時的意識形態(tài)及詩學,并推動了中國近代文學的發(fā)展。
[Abstract]:The principle of "faithfulness" was once regarded as the only criterion for judging the translation of works. In recent years, with the development of western translation studies, literary translation is no longer confined to the traditional equivalence theory. In this way, one of the most important features of literary translation, cultural misinterpretation, has received unprecedented attention and more reasonable explanation, rather than just negation. In the specific historical and cultural background of the late Qing Dynasty, the translation and introduction of foreign novels was carried out with great vigour. Lin Shu was one of the leading literary translators of the same period. Although its translation promotes the exchange and dissemination of culture objectively, it is still questioned and criticized by the translation community because it is not faithful to the original text in content and structure. As an inevitable phenomenon in translation, cultural error translation should be treated correctly, and cultural error translation is of extraordinary significance to translation research and criticism, and the translation community should pay more attention to it. In this paper, the author analyzes and discusses the phenomenon of cultural mistranslation in his translated works, and sums up the reasons and significance of the existence of cultural mistranslation in his translation. Due to the cultural differences, the limitations of the text characteristics, the differences in the translator's personal qualities and the manipulation of the sponsors, the translator is unable to be completely faithful to the original text. Combined with the translator's subjective role in the translation process, and the more representative cultural mistranslation in the translated novel, the author preliminarily explores the causes and significance of the cultural mistranslation of Lin Shu. The author finds that Lin Shu is in the process of translation. It was manipulated by the main ideology, poetics and patrons of the late Qing Dynasty. At the same time, in the late Qing Dynasty, Lin Shu's translation purpose was to arouse the patriotic enthusiasm of the people and advocate political reform. In order to achieve this goal, Lin Shu mainly adopts the translation strategy of saving translation, amplification and transformation, which together constitute the cultural mistranslation in Lin Shu's translation. These cultural mistranslations not only did not bury Lin Shu and his works, but had a great impact on later generations objectively. Lin Shu was manipulated by many subjective and objective factors, but also affected ideology and poetics at that time. And promoted the development of modern Chinese literature.
