[Abstract]:This paper focuses on the investigation of the history of local music, and makes a general analysis of the situation of various musical activities in Hankou during the period between the opening of the port and the period before the War of Resistance against Japan. This period is a period when the feudal dynasty of China was coming to an end. It was also a period when foreign cultures invaded China. Hankou is one of the more representative cities where Chinese and Western cultures blend. Here, While traditional music is impacted by foreign music culture, it continues to maintain its strong development momentum, and foreign music culture continues to occupy its own market. In the process of merging the two cultures, a new music culture with Chinese and western characteristics has been formed quietly. Although the history of Hankou was not too long, it became one of the four famous towns in the late Ming Dynasty because of its unique geographical position, and became more prosperous in the Qing Dynasty. Even in modern times, it became a very influential metropolis. Against this background, its entertainment and cultural activities flourished. As a result of the sharp increase in the number of citizens, there was a sharp increase in demand for music and entertainment. This led to the increase of musical activities. It was in this period that Han opera in Hankou, Chu opera went to its peak, opera such as Beijing Opera and Hubei calligraphy and other qu arts were developed unprecedentedly. With the invasion of Western culture, westerners in their concession areas need a suitable form of entertainment, religious music, Foreign forms of music, such as ballroom music, have begun to affect Hankou's musical life. But this has not hindered the development of Hankou's original traditional music. Two kinds of music with different cultural backgrounds each have their own markets. Each has its own participation groups, consumer groups. In the process of the collision between Chinese and Western music cultures, a new music culture will inevitably emerge. This is mainly due to the emergence of school music and Chinese pop music. This new music culture has had a great impact on the development of modern Chinese music. Zhang Zhidong was awarded early at the school in three towns of Wuhan. However, the production of popular music seems to be half slower in Hankou than in Shanghai. Many music activities involve Shanghai singing and dancing troupes coming to Hankou to perform, or other music groups coming to Hankou to perform. Hankou began to form its own pop music group after being influenced by Shanghai. Hankou formed its own unique music culture life in this particular historical transition period.
