空間用以描述物體的位形,在認知空間的過程中,人們把空間分為上部、中部和下部空間,而上、下兩部分通常涵蓋中部空間。按照認知語法和構(gòu)式語法的觀點,空間關(guān)系構(gòu)式是指人們用以表達事物與事物的空間關(guān)系的語言表達式。空間方位構(gòu)式是空間關(guān)系構(gòu)式的重要組成部分。在英語中,up and down,above and below,over and under,on and beneath是典型的空間方位詞。而在漢語中,人們表達空間關(guān)系概念通常利用空間方位詞組合構(gòu)式,如上、下、左、右、里、外等。其中,上、下是表達空間概念最主要的方位詞。與構(gòu)式語法理論指導(dǎo)下的方位詞“上”的英漢空間方位對比研究較多形成對照的是有關(guān)方位詞“下”的研究比較少見。為了更全面地對比英漢空間方位表達,對最主要的方位詞之一“下”的研究顯得尤為重要。本研究選取了三個典型英語空間方位詞:under,below,beneath,和漢語的十二個方位詞之一的“下”字構(gòu)式進行跨語言的對比研究。研究的英語語料來自于COCA語料庫和柯林斯高階英漢雙語詞典。漢語例句來自于北京大學現(xiàn)代漢語語料庫（CCL）和《辭海》。本文以人類的空間概念結(jié)構(gòu)為基礎(chǔ),對英漢語言...
