中美金融報(bào)道中隱喻的批評(píng)性分析

【摘要】:隱喻一直是語(yǔ)言學(xué)研究的熱點(diǎn)課題。關(guān)于隱喻的理論層出不窮,如亞里士多德的“比較論”,理查德和布萊克的“互動(dòng)論”。傳統(tǒng)修辭學(xué)中,隱喻被當(dāng)作一種修辭現(xiàn)象。隨著語(yǔ)言學(xué)的發(fā)展和隱喻研究的深化,越來(lái)越多的研究表明,隱喻的本質(zhì)是通過(guò)一種具體事物來(lái)理解另一種抽象事物。隱喻不僅是一種語(yǔ)言現(xiàn)象,更是一種認(rèn)知現(xiàn)象,是人類認(rèn)知和理解世界的工具。 由于經(jīng)濟(jì)活動(dòng)的抽象性和復(fù)雜性,金融報(bào)道中存在大量的隱喻。國(guó)內(nèi)外學(xué)者從不同角度對(duì)經(jīng)濟(jì)活動(dòng)中的隱喻開(kāi)展研究。但是許多研究都局限于單一語(yǔ)言。即使有對(duì)比分析,主要是針對(duì)英語(yǔ)和其他歐洲國(guó)家語(yǔ)言的對(duì)比研究。缺少針對(duì)中英文金融報(bào)道中隱喻的對(duì)比研究。批評(píng)隱喻分析是一種集合了語(yǔ)言學(xué)、語(yǔ)用學(xué)、認(rèn)知學(xué),探討影響隱喻選擇的意識(shí)形態(tài)的隱喻研究方法。 本文選擇中英文金融報(bào)道作為研究對(duì)象,,在批評(píng)隱喻分析的框架下,嘗試將隱喻的理論應(yīng)用到具體的領(lǐng)域。本文從中美兩國(guó)的主流報(bào)刊中分別選取15篇以人民幣對(duì)美元升值為主題的新聞報(bào)道為語(yǔ)料,結(jié)合定量和定性分析,根據(jù)批評(píng)隱喻分析的理論框架,識(shí)別出隱喻表達(dá)式。通過(guò)對(duì)中英文金融報(bào)道中隱喻的使用情況進(jìn)行比較分析,發(fā)現(xiàn)中英文數(shù)據(jù)庫(kù)中主要存在三種概念隱喻,分別是:金融活動(dòng)是有機(jī)體,金融活動(dòng)是物理運(yùn)動(dòng),糟糕的金融活動(dòng)是災(zāi)害。中文金融報(bào)道中,機(jī)體隱喻出現(xiàn)頻數(shù)最多,災(zāi)害隱喻其次,運(yùn)動(dòng)隱喻第三。而在英文金融報(bào)道中,機(jī)體隱喻出現(xiàn)最多,運(yùn)動(dòng)隱喻其次,災(zāi)害隱喻第三。此外,本文發(fā)現(xiàn)中英文金融報(bào)道中還存在游戲和賭博隱喻。該隱喻在英文數(shù)據(jù)中出現(xiàn)的頻率大大高于中文數(shù)據(jù)。最后,本文試圖從認(rèn)知和文化因素對(duì)中英文數(shù)據(jù)中隱喻的異同點(diǎn)進(jìn)行解釋,進(jìn)一步探討隱喻思維反映出的不同的意識(shí)形態(tài)。分析發(fā)現(xiàn),在認(rèn)知因素中,人對(duì)世界的感知使得兩種語(yǔ)言中存在大量相同或相似隱喻。而在文化因素中,人對(duì)環(huán)境的理解和價(jià)值系統(tǒng)的差異,導(dǎo)致兩種語(yǔ)言中存在不同的隱喻。 本研究通過(guò)對(duì)中英文金融報(bào)道中的隱喻對(duì)比分析研究,希望對(duì)外語(yǔ)教學(xué)和隱喻能力的培養(yǎng)提供一定的啟示。
[Abstract]:Metaphor has always been a hot topic in linguistic research. Theories about metaphor, such as Aristotle's Theory of comparison, Richard and Blake's Theory of interaction. Metaphor is regarded as a rhetorical phenomenon in traditional rhetoric. With the development of linguistics and the deepening of metaphor research, more and more researches show that the essence of metaphor is to understand another abstract thing through one concrete thing. Metaphor is not only a linguistic phenomenon, but also a cognitive phenomenon. Due to the abstract and complexity of economic activities, there are a lot of metaphors in financial reports. Scholars at home and abroad have studied metaphors in economic activities from different angles. But many studies are confined to a single language. Even if there is a contrastive analysis, mainly for English and other European countries language contrastive study. There is a lack of a comparative study of metaphors in Chinese and English financial reports. Critical metaphorical analysis is a metaphorical approach that combines linguistics, pragmatics and cognitive science to explore ideologies that influence metaphorical choices. This paper chooses Chinese and English financial reports as the object of study and tries to apply the theory of metaphor to specific fields under the framework of metaphorical criticism. This paper selects 15 news reports with the theme of RMB appreciation against the US dollar from the mainstream newspapers of China and the United States as corpus, combines quantitative and qualitative analysis, and identifies metaphorical expressions according to the theoretical framework of critical metaphorical analysis. Through a comparative analysis of the use of metaphors in Chinese and English financial reports, it is found that there are three main conceptual metaphors in Chinese and English databases: financial activity is an organism, and financial activity is a physical one. Bad financial activity is a disaster. In Chinese financial reports, organism metaphors appear most frequently, disaster metaphors take second place, and sport metaphors take third place. In English financial reports, body metaphors appear most frequently, sport metaphors take second place, and disaster metaphors take third place. In addition, we find that there are game and gambling metaphors in Chinese and English financial reports. The frequency of the metaphor in English data is much higher than that in Chinese data. Finally, this paper attempts to explain the similarities and differences of metaphors in Chinese and English data from cognitive and cultural factors, and to further explore the different ideologies reflected in metaphorical thinking. It is found that human perception of the world leads to the existence of a large number of identical or similar metaphors in both languages. In cultural factors, there are different metaphors in the two languages due to the difference of human understanding of environment and value system. Through a comparative study of metaphors in Chinese and English financial reports, this study hopes to provide some inspiration for foreign language teaching and the cultivation of metaphorical competence.
