【摘要】：作為一種常見(jiàn)的語(yǔ)言現(xiàn)象,委婉語(yǔ)是用含蓄的、令人愉悅的去代替那些粗魯?shù)幕虼潭脑~或表達(dá),它常常是用來(lái)避免尷尬或得罪冒犯他人,出于禮貌而使用的。委婉語(yǔ)像一面鏡子,映射出不同文化和不同民族之間道德、思維方式、信仰和習(xí)俗的不同。紅樓夢(mèng)是一部具有高度藝術(shù)性和思想性的巨著,描寫(xiě)了18世紀(jì)的中國(guó)封建社會(huì),幾乎涵蓋了社會(huì)生活的各個(gè)方面,委婉語(yǔ)也不例外。本文主要從產(chǎn)生原因、分類還有特點(diǎn)幾個(gè)方面闡釋了紅樓夢(mèng)中的死亡委婉語(yǔ)。文章以切斯特曼的五大翻譯倫理模式為指導(dǎo),對(duì)比分析了紅樓夢(mèng)兩大英譯本中的死亡委婉語(yǔ),探索了霍克思和楊憲益在他們的譯本中遵循了哪種倫理模式,采取了什么翻譯策略,并指出了具體的原因。
[Abstract]:As a common linguistic phenomenon, euphemism is used to replace rude or harsh words or expressions with implicit, pleasurable expressions that are often used to avoid embarrassment or offending others. Euphemism used out of politeness. Euphemism is a mirror that reflects the differences in morality, way of thinking, beliefs and customs between different cultures and nations. The Dream of Red Mansions is a masterpiece with a high degree of artistry and thought. It describes the Chinese feudal society in the 18th century, covering almost all aspects of social life, and euphemism is no exception. The paper, guided by Chesterman's five major translation ethics models, compares and analyzes the death euphemisms in the two English versions of the Dream of Red Mansions. This paper explores which ethical models Hawkes and Yang Xianyi follow in their translations, what translation strategies they adopt, and points out the specific reasons.
