20世紀以來,伴隨著全球化的發(fā)展,各國之間的文化交流日益頻繁,其中學(xué)術(shù)交流占據(jù)了重要的地位,我國也因此引進了大量學(xué)術(shù)論文。社科類文本為人們認識世界、改造世界提供了依據(jù),是學(xué)術(shù)論文的重要組成部分。目前學(xué)術(shù)界對社科文本漢譯的研究主要集中在標題和摘要兩部分,而對翻譯英文社科文本的主體內(nèi)容缺乏探索:同時,少數(shù)對社科文本主體部分的翻譯研究,沒有充分考慮到社會科學(xué)文本所獨具的文本特點。社科文本屬于傳遞資訊、觀點占語言功能主導(dǎo)地位的文本,按照紐馬克的文本分類,屬于典型的信息型文本。因此,譯文在語言應(yīng)用上的相對自由性以及對文本內(nèi)容傳達的精準性要求為翻譯工作帶來了巨大的挑戰(zhàn)。除此之外,社科文本獨具的互文性決定了其具有背景信息繁雜,多采用長而復(fù)雜的內(nèi)嵌句等特點。對此,本文選取了《加勒比海岸的白人特征、婚禮和旅游》第二章節(jié)作為翻譯材料,并就筆者的譯文從詞匯、句法和語篇三大層面闡述交際翻譯理論指導(dǎo)下社科文本翻譯的難點與特點,總結(jié)了相應(yīng)的翻譯策略。因此,提高目標語讀者的閱讀體驗,將英文社科文本原文譯成通順自然、樸實明了的中文成為了筆者在翻譯時追求的目標,而本文提出的翻譯策略也為日后社科文本翻譯提供了參考。
