[Abstract]:The study of the history of literary translation is the basis of writing the literary history of translation. It clarifies the changes and cultural background factors of literary translation in different periods. Therefore, the study of the history of literary translation is an important part in the study of history. The most basic requirement of translating literary texts is that the translator needs to convey the original information and meaning faithfully. The book A History of Oxford Literary Translation into English is composed by Stuart Gillespie (Stuart Gillespie as chief editor. The translation from English to Chinese is the result of team work, and the author is the translation of the second chapter. In China, the book has not yet been published, and few scholars have studied it from the perspective of translation practice. This practical report is a summary and arrangement of the translation of Oxford Literary History into English. According to the text characteristics, language characteristics and language structure of the original text, the author chooses to analyze the translation practice under the guidance of functional equivalence theory. In the translation report, it expounds how to use translation method in practice. The translation report consists of four chapters, the first chapter is a brief introduction. This paper briefly introduces the purpose and significance of this translation practice, and the background and practice of translation practice to achieve the basic goals. At the same time, it briefly introduces the writing background and main contents of the original text, A History of English Translation of Oxford Literature and the main contents of the book. The second chapter is the preparation for translation. Under the guidance of functional equivalence, the author prepares for translation from three angles: parallel text reading, analysis of the features of the original text language and translation difficulties. The third chapter is the translation theory, which mainly introduces the functional equivalence theory and the application of functional equivalence theory in the translation of Oxford Literary History into English. Chapter four deals with translation practice from three aspects: first, lexical addition and subtraction, literal translation and translation of cultural vocabulary contained in the text; secondly, sentence level translation, reverse translation, and sentence segmentation. Finally, at the textual level, it analyzes the style transfer and language logic coherence in the history of translation of the original literature. Chapter five is a summary of the translation practice report, which summarizes the author's experience in the translation of literary history, as well as the problems and shortcomings found in the whole translation process. In translation, the author should make full use of flexible translation methods to deal with the translated text, grasp the basic translation skills in full understanding of the language background of the original text, and then deal with the problems encountered in translation reasonably.
