【摘要】：本報(bào)告基于非裔美國作家理查德·賴特的中篇小說集《湯姆叔叔的孩子們》中的第六個故事《休》一文的英漢翻譯實(shí)踐而作�！稖肥迨宓暮⒆觽儭酚h翻譯項(xiàng)目由作者導(dǎo)師薄振杰教授主持。作為項(xiàng)目組成員,本報(bào)告作者承擔(dān)該小說集中3個故事(第4、第5和第6)的翻譯任務(wù)�！缎荨返闹魅斯菔且粋�勇敢堅(jiān)強(qiáng)的黑人婦女。她在白人統(tǒng)治階級的壓迫和欺侮下,親眼目睹了兒子被白人折磨致死的過程,但依然不屈不撓,最后為共產(chǎn)主義事業(yè)和黑人同胞的解放獻(xiàn)出了寶貴的生命。賴特以寫實(shí)的手法,生動再現(xiàn)了非裔美國人在上世紀(jì)三十年代充滿貧窮、羞辱、恐懼和暴力的生活現(xiàn)實(shí)。該翻譯項(xiàng)目主要有三點(diǎn)要求:首先,要忠實(shí)于原著的內(nèi)容;其次,譯文要文筆流暢,符合漢語的表達(dá)習(xí)慣;最后,專業(yè)術(shù)語的翻譯要符合通用規(guī)范�；谶@三點(diǎn)要求,筆者選擇了德國學(xué)者朱利安·豪斯的翻譯質(zhì)量評估模式作為該翻譯實(shí)踐的理論指導(dǎo)。在翻譯過程中,本報(bào)告作者主要遇到了五個方面的問題:文中美國黑人英語的使用、對話風(fēng)格、宗教元素、象征手法的運(yùn)用和英語與漢語不同的語言表達(dá)習(xí)慣。針對這幾個問題,筆者根據(jù)該翻譯項(xiàng)目的要求和豪斯翻譯理論的指導(dǎo),采取的處理方法具體如下:使用口語化的詞匯、在對話部分采用簡短的句子、適當(dāng)添加注釋和運(yùn)用目標(biāo)讀者熟悉的漢語表達(dá)方式等。通過本報(bào)告,筆者認(rèn)識到在翻譯文學(xué)作品時(shí),除了語言方面的因素,還有許多外部因素也要考慮在內(nèi),如譯本所處的社會和文化環(huán)境,譯文讀者的需求,以及作者的個人立場和社會地位等。希望本報(bào)告能夠使得理查德·賴特的作品和美國黑人文學(xué)為更多國人所關(guān)注,并為其他譯者在翻譯類似作品時(shí)提供一些參考。
[Abstract]:This report is based on the English-Chinese translation practice of the sixth story "Hugh" in Richard Wright's novella collection, Uncle Tom's Children. Presided over by Professor Bo Zhenjie, the author's mentor. As a member of the project team, the author of this report is responsible for the translation of three stories (Nos. 4, 5 and 6). Hugh is a brave and strong black woman. Under the oppression and bullying of the white ruling class, she witnessed the process of her son being tortured to death by the white people, but still persevering, and finally gave her precious life for the cause of communism and the liberation of the black people. In a realistic way, Wright vividly depicts the reality of African-American life in the 1930s, full of poverty, humiliation, fear, and violence. There are three main requirements: first, to be faithful to the original content; secondly, the translation should be fluent, in line with the Chinese expression habits; finally, the translation of professional terms should conform to the general norms. Based on these three requirements, the author chooses the German scholar Julian House's translation quality assessment model as the theoretical guidance of the translation practice. In the process of translation, the author has encountered five problems: the use of black American English, the style of dialogue, the religious elements, the use of symbolism and the different expressions in English and Chinese. According to the requirements of the translation project and the guidance of House's translation theory, the author adopts the following methods: use colloquial words, and use short sentences in the dialogue part. Add appropriate annotations and use the target readers familiar with the Chinese expression and so on. Through the present report, the author recognizes that in the translation of literary works, there are also many external factors to be taken into account in addition to linguistic factors, such as the social and cultural environment in which the translation is situated, and the needs of the target readers. And the author's personal position and social status, etc. It is hoped that this report will draw more attention to Richard Wright's works and black American literature and provide some references for other translators in translating similar works.
