3D打印是一種通過材料逐層添加制造三維物體的變革性、數字化增材制造技術。近年來,3D打印技術迅猛發(fā)展,已實際運用于建筑、航空航天、醫(yī)療、汽車、珠寶等日常生活領域,其未來使用范圍還會更為廣泛。為了引進國外先進技術并促進國內3D打印技術的發(fā)展,3D打印技術類文本的翻譯就顯得尤為重要。英國翻譯家卡特福德(J.C.Catford)于1965年在《翻譯的語言學理論》中提出了翻譯轉換理論,他認為,翻譯中的轉換就是將原語翻譯成為目的語的過程中所發(fā)生的各種形式的偏離�？ㄌ馗５聦⒎g轉換分成兩大類:層次轉換和范疇轉換。卡特福德翻譯轉換理論最顯著的特點就是旨在語義對等,這對于重在意義轉換的3D打印技術文本的翻譯實踐具有重要的指導作用。本研究基于題為《3D打印失敗——如何診斷和修復所有桌面3D打印機打印問題》(3D Printing Failures—How to DiagnoseRepair All Desktop 3D Printing Issues)一書,從中選取大約1.5萬字作為翻譯實踐材料。本研究主要包括以下三個方面:首先介紹了翻譯項目的背景、意義以及準備過程;其次闡述了卡特福德的翻譯轉換理論的緣起及發(fā)展歷程,并對層次轉換和范疇轉換這兩種轉換方法進行了詳細論述;最后基于兩種轉換理念,結合該書中的具體翻譯例證,對其中出現的問題進行分析和研究。研究表明,卡特福德的翻譯轉換理論對3D打印技術文本的英漢翻譯實踐具有很強的指導意義,在翻譯過程中,譯者可基于層次轉換和范疇轉換兩個視角找到合適的翻譯策略,從而有效提高譯文質量。
